Hi. Just reading your last two posts with interest. I think the words are the most important but I think hymns should be more or less sung to the tunes we are used to. When we hear a tune being played we know more or less the words that go with it. I am old fashioned too. I do not like this rock music to hymns. I like country music but that does not appeal to everyone either. Anyway I cannot sing a note because I am tone deaf. I was asked to sing solo at church. Solo that no one else would hear me!
God bless.

Hi! I would keep the hymns as they are but also add some good new songs not connected with the hymns. That's my viewpoint but I'm from a younger generation than most here. Not being raised in a church, the hymns style often grates on me, but I know it's just my personal taste. And I'm like Colin but I sing tenor...ten or twelve notes off key!
Great topic.
Bless you,

Amazing Grace is my alltime favorite - but Todd Agnew does a nice twist on it called Grace Like Rain that we often sing.
People have such a problem with change around here that we call it the C word and try to always think of way to say things witout even using the word.

Who said that God does not like Rock-A-Billy?
I played some guitar with the king of rock-a-billy... Carl Perkins... and his son today leads the church band in his home town in TN!
Rock on girl!
