You have to remember that we are still working on joining this century at our church. The is a lot of opposition.
We start with three songs, then anouncements then three more, special solo, sermon and end with one or two. The songs are half hymns half choruses but the choruses are rarely recent ones. There is great fear of teching any new ones. We are usually piano driven. Sometimes we use a guitar. We are a church of about 200. We don't have very many musicians available.

We sing a lot of current songs that you hear on Christian radio, along with the older loved ones. My church has many, different worship teams so that each one plays every 6 weeks and they play for all three services on the weekend. You never quite know what you will hear. It is great! Some people stand very still, others sing out loud, and usually I am prompted to lift my hand to God in praise. I think the main thing is to pray to God about it. (We make our plans but the Lord decides where we will go - Proverbs 16:9) Remember when you are playing, you are not doing it for you, you are doing it for HIM! Blessings to you,

Well in my church on Sunday morning the minister is usually preaching to the Christians. We start of with a psalm then prayer then a hymn. We only have an organ in our church and it is played by my sister-in - law. The singing starts of all right and then gets slower. I never see so many dead pan faces and so little life! In the evening the minister preaches more to the unsaved althoug he does it at both services. We start of with hymns. Again we start of brightly but then it starts to drag. We do not clap hands! oh no; that would be frowned upon! Don't dare sway your body! you might be accused of dancing! Sometimes a singer would come along to sing. what else! We tried to sing little choruses one time but tut tut; that was too happy clappy!
Sometimes I wish there was more life at times. Pretend to be at least happy if nothing else!
    God bless

Worship service in our church is awesome. The problem I have is with the members. It is as if over half of the church just stands looking straight ahead with almost no emotion. We have a full band as well as a large praise team that is really anointed. I think if more people came into church ready to worship and praise God and not just to hear sermon they would not stand like rocks in the house of God.

    I love our worship service.
