What good reading this message was!
I have put my trust in God but you are so right about how we try to live in both worlds.
When troubles come, we think we can take care of ourselves and then we get into more trouble.
God never allows hurt to come into our life that He could not use for eternity.
Every painful thing that happens to us is growing us and maturing us to be more Christlike.
Our story will forever remain incomplete... unless we let God what only He can with our hurt.
He has loved us before we were born and He knows every difficulty that we have faced or will face.
We can trust HIM.

Oops! I think I typed too quickly and forgot a few words.
It should say:
Our story will forever remain incomplete... unless we let God DO what only He can Do with our hurt... (heal us, save us, grow us).

Dear Mary Lou, thank You so much for such a thoughtful comment. You are so, so right! Just last night I was talking to a young Christian who is hurting because she has never been able to have a baby... she is hurting and doing some destructive things, hurting herself even more. When I was talking to her, I realized how many things in my own life, and I know in the lives of so many other people, have truly counted for something, bringing hope and victory to others, have grown out of pain. Then I thought, wow, those things that have hurt the most, God in His awesome mercy and goodness has taken from us, turned around (if we allowed Him to) and brought victory to us... helping us to grow and mature and become more beautiful in our hearts into the bargin. Then I realized another thing - we can't grow without pain. We are being lifted out of our comfort zone and it hurts, but it is the flesh that hurts, not our hearts/spirits. Our spirits get to grow in the process... if we dare to surrender it all to God. Awesome, in the end, isn't it!
