This certainly is food for thought this morning. I'm wondering if the beginning of learning to "take up our cross"...is found in Jesus prayer in the garden: Father, not my will, but Your's be done. This yielding of our will to the Father's can be applied to countless situations...I am praying for God to cause me to DELIGHT to do His will these days.

Hi Michael,
Amen! Another wonderful message. I have enjoyed it very much. Some Christians don't know what it means to take up thy cross and follow Jesus, because they don't deny self and live close to the Lord. What a blessing to be obedient to His call. Those Scriptures are some of my favorite.
May God bless you as you work in His vineyard, now and always, with Love, Joy and peace in HIM.
With God's Love,
Lois J.

Good message Michael,
I think when we take up our cross, we are denying the world views and taking a more Godly view of the world. We are being His disciples and being more Christlike. It is doing His Will and fulfilling our purpose here on earth. It is not an easy thing to do in light of the attitudes of this world that we live in. The world view is soooo contrary to the Godly view. Taking up our cross is bearing the weight of disgust, disagreement, ridicule, and laughter from the masses and doing it gladly for the glory of God.
Just my thoughts that popped in my head while reading your post.
Thanks for making me think and ponder these things.
Your sister-in-Christ, ML
