    Spiritual Victory Behind Enemy Lines

Ephesians 6:12 -- "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

The reality is that we're in battle. We're being prevailed against. Some of us are "losing" in the fight against sin and sickness, disease and death. Some of us are losing the battle for our kids to know Jesus. Some of us are battling for our marriages. Some of us are battling against poverty, and the very things that hinder the fulfillment of the prophetic word in our lives. War wages for the fulfillment of our very divine destinies.

Hosea 4:6 -- My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou has rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou has forgotton the law of God, I will also forget thy children.

This infers that if God's people had knowledge of who they really are in Christ, of who God is, and of the rights and priveleges of their dominion -- they wouldn't be destroyed.

John 15:7 -- If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

As soon as we become blood-bought believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we're thrust behind enemy lines, though assured of God's protection. However, we're also reminded that we operate in an environment of spiritual terrorism. ".....We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one" (1 John 5:19).

Jesus walked in union with His Father. We too must do the same with Him. We only have true spiritual authority to the degree that we are abiding in Him. The angels do not respect us and the demons do not obey us because of who we are, but because of who is in us.

Psalm 78:9-11 -- "The sons of Ephraim were archers equipped with bows, yet they turned back in the day of battle. They did not keep the covenant of God and refused to walk in His law; they forgot His deeds and His miracles that He had shown them."

The apostle John wrote, "They overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death." (Rev. 12:11).FOR victory but we fight FROM victory. Winning is assured when we enter the battle.

Matthew 11:12 -- Violent men take the Kingdom by force.

It is to be understood that our battles are to be the manifestations of His victory. The ultimate challenge is not the battle itself but the decision to participate. Notice that the "armor of God" in Ephesians Chapter 6 has no protection for your back. We are ill-equipped for retreat.

Matthew 6:10 -- "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

God's world collides with the world of darkness, and His world always wins. Our battle is always a battle for dominion -- a conflict of kingdoms. We are His delegated authority on planet earth, and prayer is the vehicle that gives occasion for His invasion. Those who don't pray allow darkness to continue ruling. The enemy's greatest efforts at deceiving the Church are centered on diluting the purpose and effect of prayer.

God has chosen to work through us.

The shield of faith is our truth and our buckler. It's the truth of the Word of God, and it's given to every believer to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one (Eph. 6:6). But it has to be used. We are to be doers of God's Word. When we act, the shield moves when we do, even if we don't feel it.

    1. We don't have the Sword of the Spirit until the Word has been made real to our spirit.

    2. We don't have the Shield of Faith until we walk in that faith of who God says we are in Christ.

    3. We don't have the Shoes of Peace until we get into the presence of God.

    4. We don't have the Helmet of Salvation until we have a revelation of Christ's finished work on the cross.

    5. We don't have the Breastplate of Righteousness until we start thinking like God thinks.

    6. We don't have the Belt of Truth until the Holy Spirit leads us into the truth of the fullness of the reality of God.

The elements of victory are recounted to us in this passage. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb: This means we no longer are fighting

The Bible says that the birds of the air come to snatch away the Word of God (Luke 8:5-15). The birds of the air are the demons that snatch away the Word from a man's heart, but only because a man leaves it out there unprotected. The devil cannot take away the word from our hearts if we hold it close and protect it through:

    Affirming It Out Loud

    Meditating on It,

And visualizing it coming to pass in our lives.

    Separation

Romans 1:1 - "Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ called to be an apostle, separated unto the Gospel of God."

Many are called, but we are never separated. That separation is a threefold thing:

    First:

The New Creation separates us from the old life.

    Second:

As the Word is built into us, we are separated unto Christ. First, there is a separation from the world; now there is a separation unto the Master. Jesus becomes the Lord of our lives. His Word dominates us.

    Thirdly:

In our walk then, as we are separated unto Christ, we come to believe that God has a purpose for our life (our destiny). We ask, seek, and knock (Matt. 7:7,8) until we understand what that purpose is. As we receive revelation of that purpose through the Holy Spirit we separate ourselves from those things which are not sinful in themselves but unnecessary. This separation continues year after year as we pursue our destiny in Christ, walking in the fulness of His fellowship.Questions To Ask Myself

Am I completely sold out to the Lord Jesus Christ?

How many hours per day do I meditate on Jesus and His purpose for my life vs. participating and thinking about society (it's demands, requirements, and pleasures)?

What is my plan to increase my Christ consciousness?

    Foundational Prayer -- Destiny Awaits

Psalm 91:1 -- "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the almighty."

Jesus lived a life of of prayer, and when He needed dedicated prayer time He would send crowds and, most likely, potential resources away so that He could be with the Father. As a result He would not move, speak, or do anything that the Father did not ask Him to do.

Our talking and listening to the Father should be a continuum or seamless activity. When we are in conversation with anyone we should ask the Lord, "Father, what do you want me to hear?" and "Father, how would you desire me to respond?" When we are consciously doing this the Lord will do amazing things and we are giving God glory in many more conversations and releasing His love more abundantly to others.

Prayer is really for us to connect with Him, His nature, and for a conduit of His peace, love and joy to flow through us, but we must participate and engage relationally with Him in order for His presence to manifest through our lives in power.

Psalm 62:1,5 -- "Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from Him cometh my salvation. My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him."

Prayer is tuning everything else out so we can hear from Him.

When prayer is foundational and we allow His will to supercede our will we begin to develop vision -- as vision expands we commence to see our

destiny (the purpose of God for our life). Prayer Principles to Connect With Our Destiny

    1. To be successful in our vision, we must have a daily, dynamic prayer life with God.

    2. We will never achieve our

    3. Prayer encourages us to get back in the fight of faith.

    4. As prayer is the essential resource of vision, we remain connected to our Source for the renewal of our purpose, faith, strength, and perserverance.

    5. God is the One who planted our life's purpose within us in the beginning. He has invested Himself in our dream and as we are obedient and stay committed He will bring our

destiny without prayer because prayer is what keeps us connected to the Vision-Giver.destiny to pass.

Matthew 7:7,8 -- "Keep on asking and it will be given to you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, the door will be opened."

Hebrews 12:1 -- "(We must) run with patience the particular race that God has set before us."

Philippians 3:14 -- "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

    Harvest Thrust

Matthew 9:37,38 - "Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."

The Greek word translated "send out" is "ekballo", which at the root level means to "drive out." "Ballo" is where we derive the English word for "ballistic." There is force and sense of urgency, a driving out, a thrusting out of laborers into His harvest.

We see this same word used in the context of Mark 1:12, describing Christ's actions after He received the infilling of the Holy Spirit at the Jordan River where, with the Spirit now in Him, "Immediately the Spirit DROVE Him into the wilderness."

Jesus isn't going to thrust us out ill-equipped -- He is going to give us His effectual wonder-working power and authority to help bring in the harvest quickly. He's giving us boldness to cast out every hindrance to breakthrough, to restore those

He's empowering and sending us out! And quickly!

dreams and visions of long ago that we thought were lost.

Matthew 10:7,8 - "And as you go, preach, saying, 'The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.' Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give."

"As you go, preach!" God calls every believer to preach the Gospel with power. God will give us a

vision of His purpose for us, commission us, and release us to fulfill it (our destiny).

Jeremiah 20:9b - "But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not."

His word will be in your heart like a burning fire, shut up in your bones. You won't be able to hold it back. When the Word becomes as a burning fire in your heart and bones your focus will be on harvest and it won't be denied you. With the workings of the Word in you, you'll become a slayer of any giant that stands in your way of harvest. Even if there's a wall, you'll leap right over it, slaying the giants to bring forth the victory.

They will hear of the works of Christ, see the works of Christ, know the works of Christ, and receive the good news of the Gospel. They will see the light of the fire of the Word burning within us.

James 1:17 - "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with who there is no variation or shadow of turning."

John 12:36a - "While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light."

John 8:12 - "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."

    Affirmations

As God's child, believing in the Son, and with His Spirit in me, I have the light!

I am a son of Light!

The Lord of the harvest empowers me to harvest in desolate places to see His harvest.

I see God releasing me into
