    Happy New Year

I am stuck. I have tried to follow Colins directions to get an image from the image editor to the new message page, but I see nothing in the right hand corner to click on. I can't even figure out what to do when I try to switch to HTML. Anyway, I'll have to forget the pictures for now. I am thankful for the wonderful year that is almost over. The Lord blessed us and gave us the opportunity to be a blessing. This was the year that our neighbor, Anna got baptized. I had met her almost the first week after moving into our new home. I love gardening and my first priority after moving in was to clear out the weed patch of a yard and plant the perennials I had divided from the last home. Anna and Wilber puttered by on there scooters. They stopped to see what I was up to and to introduce themselves. That was the start of a beautiful friendship. I started taking Anna with me to the grocery store, and we started talking about the Lord. She was raised as a Catholic but had never read her Bible. She knew she loved Jesus but she knew very little about Him. She decided to get out a Bible and start reading in Genesis. Within a year or so she had read all the way through to Revelations. We started a Bible Study with her and Wilber and her eyes were opened to so many things. Last February, while we were shopping, Anna went into a cardiac arrest, but God was gracious. We were close to the hospital and got her there in time to save her life. She was totally at peace about the close call, but she realized that it was time to make a public statement and be baptized. We took her down to the pool at the Days Inn and my husband baptized her. This, I believe was the highlight of my year, and now I pray for more of the same in 2007. May God bless you all and give you a greater awareness of His presence in the New Year.

    Thanks for the Welcome

I can't get over what a friendly place this is. Is it because Christians know how to welcome one another? It's so nice of you to welcome me onto the site.

    Author's Brag Book

I'm not a computor expert except when it comes to writing stories. That I can do, as you can see for yourself if you go to: http://booksbycarolflett.blogspot.com/ follow the link if you would like to take a peek at some first chapters, or check the comments. Susie's Story and Susie's Journey are based on the true story of a young girl growing up in Russia during the revolution and then immigrating to Canada. The Susie of the story was my mother, and I started the book as a project to record her wonderful testimony for future generations, but I found out that it was just too great of a story not to share. I wrote the books in novel form because I wanted to reach young people, but I have found out since these books have been published, that it appeals, not only to teenagers, but also to adults and seniors, and even younger children. (God knows what He is doing) I know of one elderly lady who was not a Christian but she was given Susie's Story by her preacher son. She read the book through 4 times, and since that time she has started listening to her sone's preaching and asking him to pray for her. I hope the story had some small part in changing her attitude. There is no greater reward for writing than to see lives changed. My third novel was started on a First Nations Reserve in Northern Canada. I was doing a workshop with the children there, and together we created the outline for Gang Trouble. I was astounded at the sensitivity of the plot that the children came up with. I knew that I would have to take it home and write it into a complete novel. I was not disapointed with the finished product. I was told that this is a book that should be put into the hands of every young person who has suffered a death in the family. I think you will agree. It deals with loss and guilt, and anger, and a whole lot more. Please feel free to check it out. The other book, "Lost" is a children's reader. It is a beautiful picture book about two small children lost in a flower garden. The pictures are delightful, the plot points to Jesus, and the words can be read by the youngest new readers.
