Sometimes a drop
Then maybe a flood
Inside or out
the Blood is sufficient
for rock hearts and heads

Rose of Sharon
That beautiful Rose
Glistening sweat red
Water and Blood
flowed from the Petals
that hung
Wilted
Unwatered
Bramble-entwined
from ground to the crown
Slivers and thorns
entangled
and
pierced
that Rose too But
Love was the Bramble
It held the Rose firm
Held His Heart there
while Darkness covered the
shame
Love that still holds
Love that deeper entwines
Brambling this heart
to that Sweet Rose of
Sharon.

Cuts and pastes the
pickings
Blends to bring the
dreamer
Her own creation
Scattered scenes
skewed and skeltered.

(laughing, insolent)
Squared round me like a fence
(guarded, gated)
Show me through those shadows
(dark, dire)
Long castings from the past
Walk with me through the shade
(cool, calm)
Your Light can erase
fears
that appear
They'll disappear
(vanish, vaporize)
