BrownBible.com is a blog dedicated to researching the Word of God to learn the true Will of God.

More than just reading the King James Version or any other version of the Bible, Biblical Research involves studying the original texts in their native languages, paying acute attention to the context of each passage, comparing each use of a word or phrase to see the context of how it is used, and educating one’s self on the many customs and figures of speech used during the times in which the Bible was written.

BrownBible.com is offered to believers worldwide who desire to gain a greater understanding of the Scriptures. We have no denominational or other church affiliation. It is my belief that there are Christian believers out there who don’t care about the church doctrine of whatever church it might be. They don’t care about what the right Reverend somebody might have to say. They just care about what God’s Word has to say, This site is for you. The only underlying premise here is that the Bible, as originally written, is the divinely revealed Word of God.

Welcome to The Brown Bible home page. We are a blog dedicated to the research and teaching of God’s wonderful Word. What makes us different? Read a few articles and find out. You won't find any unfounded tradition here, just straight Bible.

    Where Are The Miracles?

    (By Jane Harvester)

Miracles and healing are not dead today, nor are they reserved for the ultra-pious. God's people can and do see them happen all the time. Would you like to see them happen in your life?

    Romans on Righteousness (Part Three)

    (By Ken Brown)

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as lord and believed God raised him from the dead, you are righteous and you have peace with God. This is a big deal. So many believers do not understand their relationship with their heavenly Father. They think they are likely on the 'outs' with Him due to some whatever and need to do SOMETHING (though they are usually not sure exactly what) to make peace with God. There is nothing any of us can do to make peace with God. For one thing, we already are at peace with Him. For another, none of our works could ever be good enough anyway. It isn't what we do to be at peace with God; it is what Jesus Christ did that brings peace.

    Why Is God Called Father?

    (By Jane Harvester)

Why is God called 'Father' instead of 'Mother' or some other name? It may not be what you think. Find out more about what He is and isn't, and His heart to love you, here.

    How Big Is Your God?

    (By Jane Harvester)

Are you limiting God s might by mere circumstances? I invite you to open your mind enough to let the Creator of the Universe help you out of your troubles.

One of my favorite records of deliverance is in the book of Daniel. He was a Godly man who was recognized for his wisdom and placed as one of the main heads of the kingdom he was in. He so distinguished himself that the king sought to put him in charge of the whole of the kingdom. However, his coworkers were not happy at this idea and tried to find fault in him to make charges against him, but were unsuccessful. The plot thickens...

    Romans on Righteousness (Part One)

'Righteousness' basically means 'rightness.' The earliest English versions of the Bible used the word, 'rightwiseness.' When Romans speaks of one's righteousness, or rightness, it refers to one's rightness before God. It is the condition of being before God as one ought to be. This is not a side note when it comes to right believing. What constitutes being right before God, and why, is as fundamental as it gets.

    Romans on Righteousness (Part Two)

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not reckon sin? I should say so!! Now THAT would be quite the deal to get in on would it not? Who is it that gets to have this amazing grace? The record continues on to show through Abraham that 'this blessedness' has come to the Gentiles (uncircumcision) as well as to 'the circumcision.' It shows that they who walk in the steps of the faith of Abraham receive the Righteousness of faith whether they are of the circumcision or uncircumcision...

    Mohammed and the Mountain

My father was on a construction project endeavoring to position a very large piece of equipment close to where it would be most efficiently used. Significant effort was to no avail. Finally, my father told his co-worker they were just going to have to leave the equipment where it was and walk back and forth to it from their project to use it. He then said, “If the mountain won’t come to Mohammed, then Mohammed must come to the mountain.”

His co-worker was immediately offended and scolded back, “Don’t quote the Bible to me!” Now I’m guessing that my father’s co-worker may have been the only person on the planet who has EVER thought that the above line about Mohammed and the mountain came from the Bible. Maybe I’m wrong. But I’ll bet there are other lines you have heard incorrectly attributed to the Bible. I’d love to hear your stories. Your comments on this will be interesting and informative. Or maybe you have questions. Does such and such come from the Bible? We would love to hear from you too.

    The Unity of the Spirit

The key to maintaining the unity of the spirit is not to endeavor to become more like one another. It is to continually recognize that our differences are relatively insignificant compared to what we share.

    What about Tithing?

Tithing (paying one tenth) is based on the Old Testament law which we are no longer under. But what about today in this administration of grace in which we live? Believers can certainly give one tenth of their incomes if they want to and even correctly call it their tithes since 'a tenth part' is all the word 'tithe' means, but there is no commandment in effect today to do so. Giving is encouraged in the New Testament, but there is no statement as to how much.
