The world through the eyes of an unshakable and unflinching Christian Zionist--the antagonistic protagonist in a showdown between the "word of man" and the Word of God.

We are a pro-Israel, Christian Zionist organization seeking to edify and enhance the Body of Christ's familiarity with its Hebrew roots, as well as serving His Chosen people in the Holy Land.

America: On a Collision Course with Zechariah 12

It has been stated, “If you want to watch bible prophecy unfold in this day and age, watch the Middle East; watch Israel”. Although you may be hard-pressed to find a Christian who would disagree with such an assertion, the process of interpreting biblical prophecies—whether they are fulfilled, unfulfilled, or unfolding—may, at times, be a little difficult when attempting to apply them to the events currently unfolding on the world’s stage. Said interpretation either aligns itself with another prophetic event—past, present and/or future—gaining merit in the process or it simply “fizzles out” as an error committed at the behest of human reasoning. History provides clear examples of both. However, there are those prophetic writings found in the Word, foretold thousands of years ago, which undoubtedly apply to the events of the modern era. The first example that comes to mind is the rebirth of Israel as a nation (Ezek 34:13) after 2,000 years of Jewish dispersion across the four corners of the globe. Moreover, there are those prophecy scholars—such as highly-respected, Dr. David Reagan of Lamb & Lion Ministries—who would assert that the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967 exists as another example of definitive prophecy fulfillment. (Luke 21:24) The focus of this article is the emergence of a third example. Simply put, the prophecies of Zechariah 12 serve as the only logical explanation for the manner in which the leaders on today’s international stage have aligned themselves against Israel.

Once considered the unshakable ally of the Jewish state, the United States has quickly and quite radically shown her “true colors” in recent years, as evidenced by the agenda of every U.S. President who became intoxicated by the prospect of becoming “that president” who brought peace to the Middle East. In every case, unequivocal pressure was exerted on Israel to acquiesce to an enemy whose sole ideology was predicated upon the facilitation of her demise. Now, as then, an Israeli leader is on the verge of sitting at the bargaining table—once again, at the behest of a U.S. President—opposite a partner who, even in these days leading up to the summit in Annapolis, recognizes neither Israel’s sovereignty nor her right to exist. Israel’s negotiating “partner”—Mahmoud Abbas—has openly denied the Holocaust. He is a man who was once the mentor and eventual successor to the greatest purveyor of evil and deception towards the Jewish people since Hitler—Yasser Arafat.

He is a man who has no control over his own people—many of whom continue to advance a radical, murderous hatred of Israel in the form of daily terrorist activity on Jewish soil. Here is the man who recently promised, as per requirement by the United States, to stem the violence for which his own organization has become known, yet could stop its recent attempt to assassinate the Israeli Prime Minister. And yet, this is the man whom Condoleezza Rice, George W. Bush, and Ehud Olmert have chosen to embolden as a “suitable peace partner” with whom Israel can effectively negotiate true and lasting “peace”. This is the leader of the mythical “Palestinians”—the people to whom Bush, Rice, and Olmert are on the verge of conceding one half of Jerusalem and as much as 100% of Judea and Samaria.

Subsequently, given the consistently volatile history of both Middle East peace talks and the “Palestinian” hatred of Israel, one has to question the agendas and rationales of George Bush, Condoleezza Rice and Ehud Olmert. What controls their thought processes to an extent that would facilitate such a blatant disregard for Israel’s security? This is a question with an answer of biblical proportions, and its prophetic implications cannot be overlooked.

The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.” [Zechariah 1-2, emphasis added]

Issues concerning the “final status” of Jerusalem have remained at the epicenter of all attempts—past and present—to procure peace between the Arabs and the Israelis. The division of Jerusalem exists as the final and most important phase of the Quartet’s “Roadmap for Peace”, and will likely be at the forefront of any negotiations that take place between Olmert and Abbas in Annapolis.

Of the following, we are certain: President Bush and Condoleezza Rice have all but demanded that Israel relinquish East Jerusalem and “the West Bank” to the “Palestinians” as part of any peace negotiations. Ehud Olmert, arguably the weakest leader ever to be elected as an Israeli Prime Minister, has proven himself unwilling and/or unfit to contest Washington’s demands. In so doing, all parties involved have placed themselves, perhaps unknowingly, in a position that is as precarious as it is dangerous, and are on the cusps of solidifying their fates on the business ends of Zechariah 12:3 and Zechariah 12:9.

“And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." [Zechariah 12:3]

“And it shall come to pass in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem." [Zechariah 12:9]
