The Great Commission Speaks for itself
The Great Commission speaks for itself. The call to make disciples of all men includes just that. All men.It is without condition or exception. Jesus hoped that we would not make our own conditions or exceptions. By this I mean leaving out whole classes of people such as those with mental disease.
People with mental disease are the most neglected, misunderstood and ignored of the medical community. There are myths, untruths, immature bias, and unnecessary judgment passed on them. Jesus spoke of how to treat the least of us by saying whatever we do to them, we do to him.
How can any church ignore the most basic teaching of Christianity and be swayed by the voice of the ignorant? Jesus would reach out to the people with mental disease. They are part of a lost world that needs his love and hope.
When The Great Commission is replaced with exceptions and excuses, Jesus takes it personally.
