News From Sandy
News from Sandy! Hello to all of you, My name is Sandy. That handsome fellow in my profile pic is my husband Mike. The sweet little girl on my lap, is my stepdaughter, Maria... I am Mother of five, Grandmother of 10, (1 little girl due in July.) I personally met the Lord Jesus Christ in 1980 and he surely has has his hands full with this gal since! lol... Most of my life, I have worked in the animal related fields. Groomer,Vet tech, horse trainer, rescue kennel. A little more than a year ago, the Lord proceeded to make some overdue, but much needed, renavations in that life.. The world and my life, as I had come to know and feel somewhat comfortable with, was about to be changed through God's grace, wisdom, and perfect timing!.. Did I say changed? Let me describe it like this.. How about turned inside out, upside down, and then jammed into high gear,( I'm a 5 speed and he missed the clutch too!) lol. All this at the stage of life, (I)believed, was time to relax a bit? lol... God's plans and purpose for our lives don't always appear as a blinding flash of knowledge. For me, they are taking shape in little bits and pieces, and only as I choose to listen, obey, go and do... The doing gets a bit difficult at times.. but, he say's the understanding may come later. lol.. At this age,and with my own unique personality and temperment, I truely wonder sometimes, if The Lord knew what he was doing or if he chose the right woman? lol... Well, I surely didnt intend to start a book here so I will just say hello again and invite all of you to visit my web site and see for yourselves who I am, what my past was about, and what this new life is all about now.. http://www.lucky-pups.net or if the music and sounds of puppies get on your nerves, then use this address. lol. http://groups.msn.com/LUCKYPUPSRESCUE On a more personal and serious note, I want to share with you an excerpt from Josiah Tilton's Blog.. He is the founder of Ghana West Africa Missions and the Village of Hope Orphanage, where I intend to do some volunteering when I return to Ghana, end of March. Very often, when we Christians get frustrated, down and discouraged, the Lord will lead us to an example of true Christianity that will greatly challenge and lift our spirits! This man's words spoke to my heart and was one such example in my own recent walk with the Lord. I wwould hope he will be for you.. I would invite you to visit his blog, as well as the ministry's web site prayerfully. Who Will Cry? America and the world wept and then sacrificed when the tsunami killed 150,000 people in one day and we should have. Unfortunately, and I'm sure there are many reasons for our ignorance, 150,000 people, over half of them children, die every single month in sub-Saharan Africa. And most of the things they die from are totally preventable: Malaria, Malnutrition, Cholera, AIDS, War.
Where is the weeping? Where is the sacrifice? Who will cry for Africa? It is a questioning of our – especially Americans – idea that we have earned and therefore deserve anything. I’m asking myself then is, what DO I have that I have not been given?
Finally, all that I have been given has been given so that I might have to give to others, (Ephesians 4:28; Luke 12:48b). Those who sold houses and possessions and gave them to the Apostles to distribute to others as there was need, did God take care of them when they were old and unable to work for their keep? Since they sold what they had and gave it away, were they acting wisely? Were they doing the best they could do to care for their own families? Were they not depending on God too much? Or were they demonstrating that what they had was not their own and they were giving away only those things which they could not keep anyway? Were they saying “I trust you Father?” Sandy http://tearsoftheoppressed.blogspot.com/
