Soldiers' motivation in Iraq and Afghanistan
Comments have included that the soldiers are not in Iraq and Afghanistan for oil or revenge and that is true. The individual soldiers are there because they want to protect our contry and help set those contries free of oppression. That is not, however, the motivation of our government. I am so proud of our soldiers, but so disappointed in our oil rich President and Vice-President. We are driving our country to bankruptcy and there is still no plan in sight to accomplish what we really should be trying to accomplish. The country needs to be divided back as it was before the Brits started to meddle. Each religious group needs their own homeland. If we don't do that all the troops have done will be wiped out in days if they ever leave.

Iraq War
We have a comment about the war and I would love to hear more about how you feel about it. Do you really think we are there for the right reasons? Do you think we are actually helping? I believe that country is in fact in a civil war because Britian tried to put 3 incompatible religious groups together and tried make them live as one group. That was not prudent then or now. If they were allowed to live separately and split the oil revenues equally, there might be a chance for peace. I do not believe we went over there to spread democracy, just get revenge for George, Sr. and protect our (and Little Georgie's) oil interests in the region. I support our troops, no matter where they are sent and truly believe that, on a one to one basis, they are making a difference in individual lives there, but I don't believe the mission of a peaceful, unified, democratic Iraq is now or has ever been achievable. We, as Christians, need to pray for our troops and for God to take control of the management of this war out of the present hands and put it in the hands of those who will listen to Him. Only He can lead our leaders out of the wilderness we are in now in this situation!
