Two ideas jump out at me more quickly than anything else....
    1) P R I D E
    2) S E L F- S U F F I C I E N C Y

    Proverbs 13:10
"Only by PRIDE cometh contention, but with the well advised is wisdom."

    " " 16:18
PRIDE GOETH BEFORE DESTRUCTION, AND AN HAUGHTY SPIRIT BEFORE A FALL.

    " " 29:23
"A man's PRIDE shall bring him low; but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit."

    Daniel 4:37
"Now {...}.,and those who walk in PRIDE he is able to abase."

I believe that when He says "let us" He obviously is speaking in the Trinitarian form.
I love this story too. Either way, I did study this and found an awesome description taken from the Holman Bible HandBook, check this out, (I love this)...:::::....

    oops...
    anyhow...here it is:

"The story of the tower of Babel (11:1-9)seperates the geneology from Noah to Eber and Peleg, and the geneology that connects Noah to Abraham (vs. 10-32). In the days of Peleg, son of Eber, the earth was "divided" (10:25). Through Abraham and his covenant it would one day be reunited.
THE BABEL NARRATIVE THUS ILLUSTRATES THE FALSE AND DEFIANT SENSE OF HUMANISTIC SOLIDARITY THAT SOUGHT TO EVADE THE CREATION MANDATE TO FILL THE EARTH UNDER GOD'S DOMINION. THE SCATTERING OF THE NATIONS ACCOMPLISHED THAT PURPOSE BUT DID NOT AFFECT COMPLIANCE TO THE WILL OF GOD THAT MADE TRUE SERVANTHOOD A REALITY. THAT IS WHY A NEW COVENANT, ONE WITH NEW REDEMPTIVE ASPECTS, HAD TO BE IMPLEMENTED."

GOD is SOVEREIGN, and what HE says is the end of the matter. HE put His foot down and sure enough...their pride was indeed followed by their fall.

    Thank you Sarai.

Actually Lee, the thing that brings me here is sort of a combination of asking is what I want to start this year pride, or a good thing to do? It includes authority. It includes the Prayer of Jabez.

I wish a great thing for this world that even the secular portion of it could appreciate, if not fully so, and do it in the name of the Lord. In a way, it is a work of the hands, but not. It is not justification, but should be done in the full grace of God. If it is truely good, my faith says that God will stand with me. If it is not, I must graciously understand the fact that God could gently oppose me, as he/they did oppose men trying to get together in building the tower to heaven. Literally, my desire is uncannily close to that tower, so if I do not understand, or if it is not in God's grace to support it, it must fail.

In a Strange Search for an Answer,

    Mel

Now that was really surprising. I have never understood the meaning of the Tower of Babel and alas still do nothave that personal revelation, but for some reason, this verse has a lot of meaning to me - just not sure why, YET ......

If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.

    Starting to seek ..............

    Thanks

Hey there Mel! Ive gotta say, I am really confused by your post!??? Is it possible to go into better detail, or would you rather not?
Either way, since GOD is Sovereign ( over ALL things and in comlete control), all you can do is wait on HIM to lead you in what youre trying to do. take care, sarai

Mel - your answer to me makes me think that you have a great plan in your head and are searching for God's go ahead (or denial). Think I got it.Immediately I picturethe building of a temple of God. I think that the corner stone is very important.

I have a feeling that I will be amazed by the idea and I wish you well with it. May God reveal His plan to you through whatever means it may be and may you know beyond a doubt when His answer arrives!

    Big, very BIG!

May the Holy Spirit lead you and if "gentle" doesn't work, I'm sure a slap in the face would be welcome! (lol)

    Good Luck!

    Lee says....
"May the Holy Spirit lead you and if
"gentle" doesnt work, I'm sure a slap
in the face would be welcome!"

And Lee understands, as I try to explain, I can be stubborn, and as a stubborn child, it may take a bit more than gentle persuassion...

    Humbly,
