I respect your choice to homeschool but public school is not the only option should one decide not to my daughter goes to a private christian school and many have criticized me for my desire to keep her in that enviornment for her education telling me she is going to be to sheltered and once she gets into the real world she will go wild. I'm a firm believer that if she is given a grounded life and allowed to make decisions prior to moving away and she understands that those decisions will have consequences that she will do just fine. She has been offered the option of public school many times but she doesn't want to go to a school that won't let her pray or talk about God. I have many friends that have home schooled and they are some of the better adjusted kids I have met

Hi and welcome to this little funny farm of ours. We`are actually quite a happy bunch of weirdo's LOL
We have chosen for our children to go to a christian school. They follow the American pace books (perhaps you have heard of them?) I live in South Africa by the way. They all get a fully cooked meal for lunch and even my 5 year old surprised me last week by reciting Psalm 100. This is the best I can offer my child. One must also remember that people have different circumstances. Perhaps cost is a problem, perhaps both parents have to work to support the family, perhaps there are single parents out there. Ultimately, I believe that you are truly blessed to be able to offer homeschooling to your children. Perhaps other parent's aren't as lucky?

Thank you Ross and Lee, for taking the time to comment. I agree that homeschooling isn't the only option. But I did make sure I listed my blog in the homeschooling category. =)
Sadly, I'm all alone in there at this time!
We ARE blessed to be able to homeschool! But it isn't a matter of luck for us. It's a matter of walking by faith to follow the Lord's leading! We've done without much by the standards of this world - but the joy and peace of following Him has more than made up for the it!
