Mel,
I think what we see here is a case of God forgiving all of us of the ignorance that we act out of. He isn't removing repentance as a necessity to being reborn spiritually, that is something that He is incapable of doing. He gives us a graphic picture of how we are to forgive others who hurt us through their ignorance. Remember, we are to forgive our brother 7 times 70. If Christ could ask the Father in heaven to forgive those who nailed Him to the cross because they did it out of ignorance, then I think that we ought to do the same for those who do likewise to us. How were they ignorant? They did not perceive that Satan was "pulling their strings." The clarion call still rings true today, "Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make His paths straight!"
Peace brother,
~Eric

Yeah. Might be. Better thoughts than mine so far.
I am not losing sleep over this, but I am still thinking about it...
Thanks, Eric.
In truth,
Mel
