Tom, from when my mom passed away, I can tell you that time does heal the hurt, and that hurt is replaced with wonderful and good memories. I also found that I hardly remember anything bad, it's all good. Now when I think of her, I think wonderful thoughts and there is no hurt or sadness. Remember, you will also be re-united with him one day and it will feel like you were never even apart.
Be strong and ask God to get you through this stage.
