    Steven, my brother in Christ,
I pray that you do not do this alone. My father is an alcoholic who has not drank for over 25 years - taking one day at a time. He is a firm believer in AA and he still goes every week to a meeting.
I will, of course, pray for you.
Blessings and God's embrace on you.

It is tough to ask for help... but that is what life is all about. If you will go back and read your last post... you will discover that God's grace is always there... we just have to avail ourselves to it. Part of that process is simply doing what we know God says we are to do and not doing what He says we are not supposed to do.

    Father....

I ask that You touch Steven's heart today... I ask You to touch his body and heal him of this disease and that You give him the strength to hold onto You and Your precious promises for his life instead of a bottle.

Thank You for all that You do for us all and for all that You want to do in us and with us and for us as we allow You that opportunity!

Bless all who come to this community as well in Jesus' precious Name I pray!

    AMEN

I appreciate your previous log post and this humble admission of sin and of need, dear brother! Beware of human self-help concepts cloaked in seemingly pious language. You don't have a disease, unless you call sin a disease. You don't have addiction, unless you recognize your addictive behaviour is simply the flesh reacting to the call of God to holiness. AA is cleaverly disguised humanistic, Godless, anti-christ system of self-help that is utterly and absolutely opposed to the grace of God as supplied by the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. It's leading members will so much as acknowledge this to you in their meeting and discussions. Supposedly it was derived from Scripture, but so also were numerous other cultic creeds and concepts.
It's the cross, my friend that you need! As Jesus said, die to self, take up the cross and follow Him. Love not yourself nor this present evil world. Set your eyes and heart on the kingdom and all will fall into place for you: your practical deliverance from sin, your happiness and delight in God, as well as the misunderstanding and rejection of this world and even much of what is called "Christianity."
God bless you, brother as you press on to Him!
    Jn.

    (Joh 12:24)
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

    (Joh 12:25)
He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

There is true and complete deliverance in Christ Jesus. I have seen it in those we have prayed for in the past. We will pray that you will find that complete deliverance in Him.
