Boy Jon you hit the nail on the head. I couldn't agree more.

    Hi Jon,
So true, When we sing in the Spirit with the understanding what we are singing, it comes from our heart, Our Lord is well pleased, as we sing unto Him...It's all about Him not us...

God bless you Brother and your family....
    With God's Love,
    Lois

Hi Jon, hmmm, I find your post very good and interesting. Shallow music and singing being offered as "worship", just have to leave the participants empty, unfed and unsatisfied. God doesn't need us as He is complete in Himself, but when it dawns on our hearts that we are the ones in need of Him, and He is to be found only in worship that is all about Him not us, then we can be truly fed.

I wonder - those that grumble - have they ever truly worshipped? Or do they just sing 'cuase the words are shown on a screen? Or do they sing because they know the words?

    Just wondering?

As for myself, there are definately 2 forms of singing I do. When driving in my car, I find I just sing along to the song, purely because entering a state of worship would take my focus off the road. But when I praise and worship, the song eminates from my soul and not my mouth.

    Have a great weekend!

    God bless

Either we control what we do, or it controls us. You, know Jon, I think that even applies here. Those who must have this or that just so are controled by their preconception of what is 'worthy' and 'acceptable'. I don't see anything wrong with pursuing those goals, until those goals and their attainment is what sits in the driver's seat of our lives. You can dress in rags, or a perfect suit, it is the heart that matters. (Kinda coming out of what James said and Jesus talking about Solomon's Clothes there...)
