I'm dropping in here to say these are all very good thoughts and right on track. I do have one additional thought to add.

I wonder if the real goal is to be "intentional" about living out your life with God. By that, I mean your intentions and desires direct what you do and think. They are preemptive to our thoughts.

So if our desires and affections are set on God and living a life that pleases HIM, our thoughts and actions will be directed that way as well.

Just thought I'd throw that in there.;)

The task of keeping your mind focused on God all day is not an easy task at all. In today's world, it seems that it is increasingly more difficult than a century ago. I do think that we are to strive to setting our mind on Him as often as possible. That way, we will not spend time pondering on worthless things or things that satan uses to occupy our minds. What I mean is for example, instead of worrying about things out of our control, spend time praising God. Instead of thinking about an argument you had with a friend, spend that time meditating on the Word. Instead of doing something in haste to get it done, spend a bit more time on it and do it as though you were doing it for God.
As you can see, I believe the intention of focusing on God all the time is to give satan as little time as possible to play with our minds, thoughts and ideas. So, for me a good starting point would be to identify times where we let our minds be idle, then use that time to speak to God. Hope you get what I mean.
I have decided that I'll try this starting right now, using this time to memorise the verses I have decided to do. Maybe starting here would start training me to keep focused on God.

Thanks for the inspiration Timothy :)
