Knowing what God says and obeying it is very important, but even more exciting is knowing Him and listening for Him communicating to me in various ways.
It's more than just a dry knowledge of His word, it's an active and alive relationship.
We do have to know what He expects of us and we do have to grow in our understanding of who He is and how He operates in people's lives, but then I think we really have to be awake and paying attention to realize when He is trying to tell us something. We have to be actively listening and paying attention to a real and living God.
There's just about nothing better in life than realizing that God is communicating something to me specifically. He is paying attention, not just to the world in general, but to me. It's so awesome, I love it!

Jeanette... you are absolutely correct... but the problem that most folks make is... they wait to hear the Lord speak and fail to walk with Him moment by moment in their lives and they wonder why they do not hear God speaking to them.
When we are walking in the Spirit giving God what He wants in our decisions, He is then able to lead us and do things for us as well as speak to us in the process... He wants us to be in a reltaionship with Him but the ey to experiencing that relationship is found in our obedience to His Word and will for our lives.
