    J O Y: Simply 'Jesus over Ourselves'
Then when this is so, we will know real peace!

Stuarts comment is similar to the thought I had as I clicked to come here... when we have Jesus in our hearts, how can there not be joy! When situations arise that try to rob us of our joy, we need to try to do two things... first of remember that greater is He that is in us than He who is in the world... and Gos is complete control and all I need to do is stay in control of how I respond to this situation... so I will rejoice in all things because of all that Christ has done for me!

    It works!

Having joy shows that believe God. He has promised us so much, His Ear, His presence, eternity, that if we can't muster some joy about that, at least sometimes, we are having trouble believing it is true.

    Philippians 4:13 (NIV)

13I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

This one always gets misused, and it comes to my mind easily because of that, and so, although it grieves my sense of correctly discerning the word at worst and mildly annoys me at best, those things serve to bring this scripture to mind, and I can be glad in that! (different, but related concept)

Read the context of the passage that this verse is in and you will see that this is not the 'I will always be happy because I have what I want.' Nor is it simply being glad to take stripes for the Lord. No, the Joy is through the Contentment that comes from knowing Christ and what he has done for us, and that all that we go through in this life is just a passing dream before we embrace the reality of eternity in his promises.

    Be Blessed,

    Mel
