Maybe. But I still consider myself nowhere in that ball park. So strange as it may sound, I don't usually look for the reason for my trials. They just are. I may know, at times, when they result from my (bad, ill-adviseed, or maybe just not best) actions. That is often enough not the case. And yet I am usually not bewildered by this human condition.

Strange, once I think about it...

    LOL!

One can read, but not understand until revelation knowledge descends down upon you and God hits you on the head with a 10 pound hammer (Mel - God used the biggest there was!)

Thanks Jon - and check out my post

Ah, the beauty of the brotherhood!
I so appreciate the fellowship of likeminded family.
    Love you all!

I agree Jon. But I also think we can bring some things on our selves.

Of course this isn't the explanation for every trial. In fact, I assume we are never completely innocent in any area of our lives. But God is big enough to rescue us, show us His mercy in any situation. I imagine Him doing this constantly in my life. So, when it does go really bad, PART of the reason COULD be that He has a plan to use our response in this trial for His glory.

I do hope in my comments stating that I don't believe I did anything wrong, no one thinks that I am being pig headed. Yes, perhaps there is always something we may fall short of in various areas, but I now believe that this would have happened to me irrespective of what I did. It is not a consequence of my own sin but more of someone elses. It's like - someone murders a family member. You end up with the pain and suffering because of their sin. Was it your sin that got the family member killed - I doubt it. I feel like that is my case, but most certainly not trying to lift myself up. Especially through this trial, I have not been the way I should have been because of my own selfishness and I fall far from the possibility of ever receiving grace - but yet, it's mine anyway.

Just wanted to clarify, but know that you weren't pointing fingers. :O)

    God bless
