I think that you are right that this is wrong, Tim. However, even though it is the church, sometimes the focus is all wrong. The 'what is in it for me' church syndrome is common, I am afraid. Unfortunately, you exhibit some of the same desires yourself. 'How can they help me?' Church fellowship should go beyond the four walls of the building. What to do? I cannot say definitively. Well maybe I can, on one point: Pray about it. And then act as you are guided to do. I do not believe in forsaking a body of believers unless their practices are absolutely in contradiction of the scriptures, but sounds like you may have cause to do so, if that is what you are guided to do. If not, (or first) I'd say look at the scriptures for confrontation and follow what they say. Do not let the sun set on your anger/dissapointment. You may not get the results you seek, but you, at least, will be doing the right thing. God will reward your efforts, whether it be here, or in the hereafter...

    Be at peace,

    Mel

    Hey Tim -

Will you ever be truly happy with any answer you may get to these questions? And even if you do get a satisfactory answer, what will the next question be? No one in your situation is to blame. Ultimately, satan asked for you to be sifted, God said yes. Why did God say yes? Because God knows everything before it even happens. God knew before things went bad that you were strong enough to get through this. He knew you would have ups and downs, He knew you would be angry with Him, yourself, and everyone else, but most importantly, He knew that He would get you through. It is easy for Him to say yes to satan if He already knows the outcome.

The tough part is going through it. Getting caught up in the million and one questions may only serve to delay you getting through the wilderness. And the longer you spend in the wildreness, the more chance satan has to try and get you away from God. I understand that you are looking for answers, but is the gamble worth it?

Unfortunately, we cannot change the past. God can and will take this horrible situation and change it into a growth and learning opportunity if you will allow Him to. Start looking forward and remember that once you get through this, you will be able to help another man out there who desperatly needs someone to understand how he feels.

Stand up, don't turn back, and keep walking until you enter the Land of Milk and Honey, and if satan wants you to stop and dance, tell him that you have a date with God beside still waters and you don't want to be late.

Take courage my dear friend, the home straight awaits, and we, your friends are all along the way cheering you on.

Give it your best, give it your all, give it to God.

    Psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God:

    God Bless
