 | Jesus referred to John The Baptist as the greatest man ever having been given birth by a mothers womb. And he was meek and humble. He did not boast or seek position as a priest or as a prophet. He obviously tried to live in peace with everyone. But he really could criticize the priests of his time. And he went to jail and was executed for condemning the acts of Herodotus.
So: John The baptist was greater than other men. And his life shows that the words of Paul, telling us to obey the secular power, is to be understood as to obey laws. | Anders ~ at ChristiansUnite | here |. |

Hi Anders, I am not sure of the point that you are getting at here, but the correct quotation is: Mt.11:11 Verily I say unto you that are born of women, there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist, not withstanding he that is the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. It is certainly true as you mention John went to jail and was executed for condemnation of Herod's (Herodotus?)marrying his brother's wife.
As far as the secular power being understood as to obey laws, dear brother, this is true only up to a certain point that is well depicted though out the scriptures, while not encouraging rebellion.
