Great passage. have preached from it a number of times!

We do need to be willing to go but we MUST be prepared spiritually to go as well.... our relationship with the Living Lord needs to be one that will allow Christ to be able to send us in His Name!

I have met a lot of people who wanted to go to the mission field for example who were not walking in the light in their own communities and at their own workplaces.. but they thought... oh I will go to Brazil sure!

I think that may well be why Jesus told us to go into Jerusalem and Judea and then the uttermost parts of the earth. Our witness and our ministry begins in our homes and in our workplace and in the places that we are planted every day and then extends to the uttermost parts of teh world!

    Great post.

Well said Stuart I must say i agree with Bob also evangelism starts at home with those within our reach and spreads out with growing numbers. We must all be ready when we are in a place to work for the Lord
    Be blessed

Yes the preparedness of the Disciple is paramount. God's will for all, "is to be Holy as I the Lord your God am Holy". In obedience to the Spirit we should be prepared. God gives us all our requirements for a sucessful mission.
The fields are still white unto harvest, Oh but the labourers are few!!

Makes one wonder why the church makes such a big deal about getting baptised. I remember the first time my husband went up for an altar call. They had a baptism that day and he just wanted to jump right in there and then - but NO, you need to go on the course first. Funny, but then it took another 2 years before he tried to seek God again.

    Interesting....

    God Bless

I have found through the ones that the Lord sends to me that, testimony of ones personal life and how God changed things (miracles, helping through storms, etc) then lead them to want to know more--thus, the Bible. I seem to find the truly lost and those that are turned off from the churches that only teach certain doctrine in words that they cannot grasp or feel meaningless to their own struggles. I can kind of relate to that.
I have found my children to really be out there, spreading the word with others that are not believers in our community--especially the Muslims. It is wonderful to hear about their love for Jesus in front of other children, who are so willing to listen. It makes me proud of them and that God has spoken so much to their hearts.
    God Bless,
    Kelly
    PS: Beautiful post and
PSS: Regarding what you said in my blog: My friend is from the UK and told me how different the US TV is--for the worse! We are far more open about network tv having sexual activity in almost every show that children could see here. The networks of free tv are bought out to, 12 minutes of television show and 5 minutes of adverts. Each advert is worse than the next, depicting sex, violence and sin. It is terrible over here, and not getting any better. We have let too much FREEDOM OF THE PRESS come true, and the Constitution is taken too literally--I am sure the writers of our constitution ever expected a world like we have today.
