    Hi Jon,
Thanks for sharing the post on Pastor's wife.
The Bible tells us in 1Timothy 3:1-13 -- The qualifications of Bishop and Deacons...Also speaks of how their wife should be 3:11....
Also 5:18 -- tells about the Pastor, the laborer is worthy of his reward. They are to receive double honor, esteem them hightly. If they are faithful. As they are one, the wife should be treated the same.....

This is just the top of the surface, it goes deeper.
Jon, you are very deep in the word....Jot down some answers....
Thanks for visiting my post. A blessing!
    God bless you and yours.

Happy Mother's Day to your wife and your Mother's.
    With God's Love,
    Lois J.

It is a sad fact, but pastors have a high divorce rate. There are multiple reasons, to be sure, but I think that the particulars of each case are noise that hide one fact: Someone, even in serving, is centered on self.

Just my two cents. Not that it matters much...

    In Truth,

Yes, I am a bit on the negative side right now, but I fear the I too will one day just be "the pastors wife". And trust me, just reading this, I feel their pain. Always having to pretend everything is fine and dandy. Battling through everything alone. A lonely life. Yes, it will be rewarded, BUT they are ONLY human. They get hurt, and angry and emotional and need patching up at times, with very few to turn to. I don't want to be a pastor's wife! Do you?

I do hope some of us realised what they have to endure. I do hope this post opened eyes and heart to compassion.

    God bless

No Lee, I wouldn't want to be a pastor's wife, or a pastor. Or a church secretary. It hasn't been so great lately being an ex-elder. Serving God is really hard sometimes. We need to all band together and encourage each other always. We are a resource that God gave us to endure until we reach Paradise.
