Hey Jon... It is not just a few who are under this attack. The air is filled with an oppressing spirit from the enemy. I even preached about this last Sunday night.
Judges 7. Every year for 7 years, the Midianites swooped down on the Israelites and stoled or destroyed everything they could. As you read this passage, there are many things that really make a strong point. The one thing that stuck with me the most was that the Israelites always ran and hid when the attack came. This time was different...this time the Israelites stood against their enemy! Nevermind that all the Israelites had in their hands were a trumpet and a pitcher with a light in it. The counter attack itself was what confounded the enemy!
In all that we find ourselves going through, the message is this: Stand against the enemy! I don't intend to make it sound simple, it is a struggle, but we cannot run and hide.
With the weapons of our warfare, we must not allow the enemy to swoop in on us and steal, kill, and destroy. A counter attack will confuse and confound this oppressing spirit.

Thanks guys. Yes, I'm glad for this site. It is often the only place I get the fellowship I crave.
Teri, great use of that passage. I haven't forgotten your stuggles in prayer either.
