Can you get there? Can you really find that true peace in Christ if you desireto retain a part of the world in your heart. I am reminded of a story, a group of college kids were traveling somewhere I think it was Africa and they wanted to get out and see this supposed great disciple of the Lord. They traveled all day to get to him. When they finally found him, they were invited in to his tiny little one room house which had nothing more than a small fireplace inside. One of the young men began asking him where his stuff was, where are your chairs? To which the man replied where are yours son. The young man said mine are at home, I'm just visiting here, why would I bring a chair? So am I replied the older man,so am I

There are days when I feel a real sense of peace in my heart, I KNOW I am not "there", but if only!! It gets better is what I am trying to say, an improvement some days & back the next, BUT, never as far back as previous!! Onward Christian, Onward to Glory Amen.

I am looking toward that time of total peace, that we will one day have. I strife each day for Gods peace, but I have learned taht someway or other I seem to let worldly things creep in and destroy True peace. Sister in Christ, Pam

Stuart thanks for your timely response, I have another question I don't know if you saw what I said about DL Moody in response to your blog so I'll break it down Moody at home was nobody till he went to the UK then everybody wanted to hear him and he did great things to further the kingdom of God, do you think if he had said no to the UK he still would have accomplished as much as he did. My question is not his name recognition but what he accomplished for Jesus

Ross, I remember what Jesus said, " No one is a prophet in his own town",Lk.4:24 So why would Moody be any different, but when God took him away to where he would not be embarrassed in front of his own, he was up for the task God had set him.
I know a great servant,Pastor who when he took on the work of youth leader full time, in his own fellowship, he was best rembered for when he had a tear in his trousers!!!! That is what happens in your own town.
God would have chosen someone else for that particular task & Moody would have been in a different sphere of work. When DL Moody came with Ira Sankey it was a time of great blessing everywhere they went. I have preached in Churches where they still use Sankey's 10001 hymns. A red softback, wonderful words & music.
Together they were a terrific team. Thats the answer, a team. God chose Moses at 80, God chose Moody when Moody was ready, not before, not after, God's timing is always right. God chose me when the time was right, I have had a wonderful time with my Saviour, long may it continue , " In His Will"
Hope that helps
God is Awesome
