Dear Brother in Christ,
I agree with all you stated about children and authority. Your comments are Biblical, and if the Bible and leading of the Holy Spirit was adhered to there would be no 'abuse' of authority. But sad to say such is not the case in many homes (Christian or otherwise). Children sure do challenge authority and it may SEEM easier to "give in" to them, but oh what 'rotten' seeds will be sown!!! Kids deeply need authority and discipline tempered with Love.

I was brought up in a very disciplined home unfortunately with little to no love. My husband was brought up in a home with plenty of love with little to no discipline. Luckily for us, together we have successfully combined the two and the discipline has made our children well behaved, respectful and obedient. The love has made them "our angels". I feel so blessed to have a good combination of parenting skills. Because of the relationship i have with my children, I can now understand better how the relationship between God and myself works when it comes to discipline.
