    His Heart In You

    During the great Exodus God told Moses to tell the people that the first great commandment was;

"You shall have no other gods before Me."
In todays world that should imply, not your house , not your car, job, spouse, children, not any thing should come before God in your life.

    However when they asked Jesus this same question. He reworded it to this;

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."
Immediately we want to qualify that with questions like; Who is our neighbor? What if our neighbor is an alcoholic? Doesn't work, or even goes to the wrong church?

I'm telling you the reason we have so many problems and objections to this commandment is that we have never got the first part right.

We concern ourselves with doing our jobs, loving our spouses, raising our kids, and well we should.

However The greatest gift you can give to another person, is the gift of restoring your heart to the condition That God originaly created it to be.
God has an intention for each of His creations; the emotions and feelings of a heart created by, and drawn to Him, serve a purpose for his higher plan.

All of the animal kingdom on earth can eat, grow, procreate, and die. Many mate for life, live in groups and have a social structure that helps them survive and thrive. They all have instincts and a certain amount of intelligance. The thing that sets humans apart is their ability to know and love God.

There is a reason He wants your heart to be healed. God wants you to feel the emotions He implanted in the depths of the chambers of your heart; He desires for his love to live in each of us.
Take the time and do the hard work with Jesus as your guide to heal your heart and soul so that it may be free to feel and experience pure, deep Godly love, the only kind of love that fulfills the cravings of our soul.

If you will allow God to take your heart and draw it to Him. Allow Him to pour His love into it, and then turn that love on your spouse, you will change your marriage!
You will rock your children and their entire world.
Your friends, neighbors and coworkers will be changed for eternity and the impact you will have on your church will amaze you.

    I Pray
May your heart be free of negative strongholds and thoughts, may it flow with open, warm, gentle, considerate, patient, kind, graceful feelings and may it always be full and overflowing with love.
    Full of love for Him,
    your faithful creator and guide.
    For yourself as His creation,
    and His child.
    For one another,
the brothers and sisters He put by your side,
to teach, to encourage, to inspire and to guide you
through the journey, of this earthly experience,
    we call Life.

    In Jesus name,Amen

    Remember
"The greatest gift you can give to another person, is the gift of restoring your heart to the condition That God originaly created it to be."

A devotion to think about. Part 7

Finally then ... Keeping Jesus the main thing

Oh that God may help us to remember that to be with Jesus is our First and Highest calling. To

That He would cause and help us repent of having other things first, at any time. To spend time with Him first and then go do the things that even He would have us do.

If you want to build a church any where under any circumstance, people need to see lives impacted and changed and it must start with you and me.

That happens by spending time with Jesus. People who have spent time with Jesus will rock your world. You need to be one of them.

37 Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matt 22:37-40

From Genisis to this very verse hangs on these two commandments. So before you try to do whatever it is you think you need to do.

Be that Go to work, bible study, talk to your spouse, or even talk to your nieghbor, you need to Love the Lord your God with all you have.

You won't have Holy Spirit power in your life or efforts until you get the first commandment right.

You gotta spend time with Jesus to do that. You need to be with Jesus. first. Everyday, every time.

If you have had something, anything, ahead of your being with Jesus, then right now right where you are, repent. Change it. Get it right. Your marriage, your work, your ministry. Let Jesus have preeminance.

A devotion to think about. Part 6

    Keeping Jesus the main thing

At the church in Antioch, they had a big to do.

Every body who was in the who's who of the early church seemed to be there. Certain prophets and teachers ; Barnabas, Simeon, Lucius of Cyrene, Manean who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and a guy named Saul.

They were not there to dicuss a plan for church planting, it was not evangelizing classes or a prophetic conferance.

They were ministering to the Lord. They were spending time with Jesus.

Then the Holy spirit spoke and said separate to me Barnabuas and Saul. They did not seek any particular thing, they were ministering to the Lord is what it says. They were together to spend time with Jesus. And then the Holy Spirit spoke. Acts 13:1, 2

But, First they spent time with Jesus.

Your not going to believe this but I found another verse in the bible.

And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him. 14 Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, 15 and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons: Mark 3:13-15

See, first that thy might be with Him.

Then He would send them out to preach. Preach where? Not to Christian churches, there weren't any at that time. Not in the synagages because they couldn't talk about Jesus in the synagages.

He sent them to towns and villages, to the wheatfields and watering holes. To their places of work, the grocery stores, the Post Office, any place there was people. The same places He sends each of you all the time.

But first they were to be with Him.

You are called to be with Jesus. That is your calling. That is the primary thing, the highest ministry. Going forth to preach or do anything else is of secondary importance. We should first be with Jesus; after that, Go forth to preach.

But before Jesus said, "Go into all the world" He said, "Be with Me."

Still keeping the main thing the main thing part 5

    The bible says;

    Col 1:28-29

28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. 29 To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.

Him we preach. Not healings, not prophasising, no missions, Him! Him we preach!

All these things are things of God. But He is to have preeminance. Jesus.

Before you spend time with or on any of these things. Spend some time with Him. Everytime.

    Spend some time with Him.

People who have spent time with Him will rock your world. You need to be one of them.

    Paul said;

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. Rom 1:16

The good news of Christ is the power of God to Salvation. Salvation means saved. What are we trying to do?

the Gospel of Christ is that power of God. The Good news of Jesus Christ is the answer.

So what are you looking for?

I'm not saying that we need to stop seeking or believing for any thing that we are seeking or believing for. I'm not say saying we need to bring any of it back down at all.

What I am saying is we need to repent seek and pray to get Jesus Christ up on top of our desires, that He may have preeminance in all that we think say or do.

Just as some people cannot see the forest for the trees, I believe most sinners cannot see Jesus for the Christians. And I believe most Christians cannot see Jesus for the "church".

A Devotion to think about part 4

    Keeping Jesus the main thing

18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. Col 1:18

That He may be the supreme issue in all things.

Remember, He is the author of that bible you cherish,

He is the healer for those that need healing.

He is the Gift that produces the manifistations.

He is the way of Salvation.

He is the armor of God.

He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through Him. John 14:6

He is to have preemenance in all things that you say, think and do.

A devotion to think about part 3

Still keeping the main thing the main thing

I know many people feel they need to get involved with the things of the Lord, so they will bedrawn closer to the Lord.

Can I read you something? I plagerized this from the bible.

Then Peter opened his mouth and said:"In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. 36 The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ -- He is Lord of all -- 37 that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. 39 And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed by hanging on a tree. 40 Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, 41 not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. 42 And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. 43 To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins."

44While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Acts 10:34-46

Now Peter was not teaching on the Holy Spirit. He was not talking about signs and wonders, or healing or the gifts.

He was talking about Jesus Christ and all God broke loose.

Wouldn't it be powerful if all God broke loose in your life, family, church?

Peter wasn't talking about speaking in tongues, bible study, or even healing. He was talking about Jesus Christ. May we all learn something from Peter.

Keeping the main thing the main thing

This is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.' Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. Acts 4:11-13

It doesn't matter what kind of training someone has gone through. I don't care what version of the bible you prefer, or how much time you spend or do not spend doing whatever.
There is one name under heaven that matters, and that name is Jesus.

It says they were uneducated and untrained, but they had spent time with Jesus.
They had healed that lame man and rocked those peoples world.
People who have spent time with Jesus, will rock your world!!

The reason the early church had power to grow, heal, is not because they spoke in tongues, had bible studies, or conferences.

It was because they had been with Jesus.
People who have been with Jesus will rock your world, and you need to be one of them

A Devotion to think about. part 1

Keeping the main thing the main thing.

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" John 21:15

When Jesus asked this question of Peter we should consider just what He meant when He said, Do you love me more then these?

They were fishing all night and hadn't caught anything. Jesus had asked them if they had any food and they had answered no.

Jesus told them to throw the net again and that they would find some. They did and where successful.
They caught a gazillion large fish but the nets did not break.

What do you suppose all those fish represent?

The prosperity of God? The abundance of God? The power of God? How about the blessings of God? All of these?

How people fall in love with the things of God.
    But Jesus asked, Peter "

Do you love me more then these?

Some people fall in love with bible knowledge, more then the author of the bible.

some people fall in love width the things of the world, more then Jesus.

We fall in love with the things of the Lord, more then Jesus.

That's why we have so many books, tapes, CD's, conferances, and all for sale for profit.

These things are not bad unless you talk and think about them more then Him.

We get all excited and involved with the things of God and even call them ministry to explain and justify our time and effort on them. End times, Healing, Prophecy, Spiritual Warfare, Worship and even music. These are all good and even of the Lord.

    But Jesus asked,

"Do you love me more then these?

Some of what a Christian is and isn't

Going to church will not qualify you as a christian any more then going to McDonalds will qualify you as a hamburger.
However, not going to church will not qualify you as anything either.

Being a christian is not following a list of do's and don'ts. It's a lifestyle. It is not something you do; it is who you are.

Entering into a relationship with God finally gives you a constant in your life. Someone who will not change, turn their back on you, or ever be too busy. Someone who will ALWAYS see you as the most important person.

    A true christian
is not a puppet bound by the latest fad, or what anybody else thinks, other then God. But they are truly free to be themselves; and are the strongest individuals on the planet.

    A true christian
believes in something bigger then any thing this world can bring. They believe in a love that is forever, a future that is brighter, and a life that will never end.

    A true christian
is his brother's keeper, loves his neighbor, prays for his enemy, will never back up or back down--no matter what others may say or do.

    A true christian
understands that people, cultures, ideas, plans and intentions change. God however is constant! His thoughts on any issue will never change because He got it right the first time.

    A true christian
has an inner strength that comes with a belief in a God that is bigger then all they are facing.

    A true christian
believes in prayer, healing, faith, love, and hope. Healing of the mind, healing of the heart, and healing of the body.

    A true christian
has been saved, delivered, and totaly healed.
His yesterday is forgiven; his today is hopeful; and his future is sure.

It is true that among any christian groups or organizations, some will be phoney, insincere, and hypocritical. There is, however, always room for one more!!
We are truely a work in progress.
    Come on, join in,

    Private Prayer

"Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you."

So in prayer, seek first, never second, or third, but always first "Him" and "His" kingdom.

The Lord said,"Go into your closet and close the door."

This is not a time for prayer about finances, Family, health. Not about intercesory prayer, corporate prayer,or worship of any kind.

He said, "close the door", because He desperately wants to talk to you about you. Your question should be this: Lord if you were to sit next to me now, just the two of us, What would you talk to me about?

This is probably the most neglected type of prayer from our Lords' point of view. As we come to Him with our needs wants and desires we often forget that He also has a desire to talk to us about
    us.

If it is true that prayer is really two-way communication, then Scripture is God's prayer for us; and our reaction to scripture is our prayer back to Him.

Time with God, this thing called "prayer", is not for lazy people. Some seem to think prayer is lost time--that somehow time spent in the presence of Almighty God is wasted.

When, in fact, what people who are consumed with busyness and materialism consider "lost" time, is in fact, the very center of life.

Daily communion with the Son of God. Time spent with God talking about you, and only you, will pay incredible dividends for you, your family, and all that know you and come into contact with you.

Say, "Lord, if it was only the two of us here, what would you talk to ME about"? This may be the fastest prayer you have ever had answered.

    Devotions that are yours

Devotions imply a commitment of absolute proportions.

It can make us feel so spiritual, so pious, so commited to our Lord to spend a few moments a day centered on Him.

We are sure to fill this time with reading daily devotionals, quoting scripture, singing, praising God, worship, prayer, all to keep ourselves very very busy during this time. This is so we can avoid making any (personal) commitments to Jesus.

    Our devotion to God,
Our commitment to love and follow Jesus, the very things that will infuse us with inner strength, allow God to pour His power out through us, and cause the Holy Spirit to use us to impact the people around us. We avoid like it is something sinful.

Christian devotions can be a wonderful experiance and time of personal growth. But must never be so full of what others have experienced, that we fail to devote and give ourselves FULLY to God, and to commit ourselves, to allow Him, to TRULY BE OUR LORD.

    Can you do this ?.......
Instead of praying, "Lord I commit my time to you that I might somehow glorify you". Because that will leave you still in control of your time.
Say instead, "Lord I give, as a gift, to you, all of my time, all of it, for you to use anyway you want".

Instead of starting your day with a prayer that says, "Lord here are all the things I need to do today. Will you help, guide and bless me?" –
    Instead,let's pray today,
"Lord, I'm available! Help me use my day to honor you and do your will."

Just wait and see how those annoying distractions turn into anointed directions!
Do you believe He is Lord? Do you trust Him?

Instead of saying, "Lord I commit my tithe to your work that your work may be accomplished". Because that still leaves me in control of my money.
Say instead "Lord, I give to you, as a gift, totally, all of my financial resources to use as you and you alone see fit".
Do you believe Him when He said "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His rightesnous and all these things will be added"?

Instead of commiting ten minutes, or an hour, or whatever to prayer that He might be glorified. Because that leaves you in control of what you pray for and what you pray about.
Instead Just say, "Lord I take my entire prayer life, all of it, and I give it, as a gift, to you to use, however you please.
You will probably throw away your prayer list.

No matter what you read, what you pray, How much you praise, or worship, or for how long or how often. Until it becomes personal, and you give it as a free gift to God, you haven't yet had a devotion.

God hears from deep in your heart

But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

Way to often we want to judge people by what we see in the physical realm.
Believe it or not we will judge someone as good looking, or not so good looking depending on what we think of how they look.

We think we can see whether or not someone is successful or not so successful by how they walk, or how their hair looks or the clothes they have on.
We thnk we know how smart someone is by what school they went to or what grade they are in.

We look at people or the family they come from, and think we know all about them.
We judge parents by how clean their children are or some other criteria that we have decided is somehow significant and important.

Because we tend to judge others or at least form an opinion of them, which is the same thing, it is still judging, we have a tendancy to think we can control what others think of us by controling what they see, when they look at us.

See If I make sure you know that I attend some kind of church, then you must consider that I am some kind of a good person. If I make sure you know that I attend a bible study or some kind of prayer group then you have consider that I am at least some kind of a spiritual person.

If I lead one of these groups then you gotta just know that I am something.

Outside of our Christian circles we do the same thing. We want people to know that we go to work, we are hard working. Mostly kinda honest. I mean we have never been arrested. How bad can we be?

Shoot I know people who cheat on their taxes and use drugs but think they are good people because they think no one knows.

I know most young people will tell me they have been good, if they are pretty sure I didn't see what it was they did.
We see on the outside. The outward appearance. We consider it, and judge it. Or at least form an opinion which is the same thing.

We have become so good at this that we think we can fool even Jesus Christ.

Now here is the part that The Lord would have us consider !

We know we can't fool Him by what we show Him on the outside because we suspect He can read our thoughts.

And so we try to control what God knows about us. Or what He thinks of how we are doing, by controlling, our thoughts, at least the ones we suspect He is paying attention to.

    Ever catch yourself doing that?
I can run around all day long and think about this and think about that, make all kinds of decisions, work out all kinds of problems and just make a thousand decisions. And think that is all fine,

However when I sit down to pray.......Now all of a sudden I am conscious of the fact that God is paying attention to what My thoughts are. Now I think I need to watch them.

For example there is a verse in the bible that proclaims If I ask in Jesus name and don't doubt! I will recieve what ever I ask for.
So when I pray I must word it very positive and not show any doubt

We have to watch what we say and watch what we think.
He can hear us........ and even read our thoughts ya know.
We must somehow pray in a manner that He will approve of. So that He will Hear, accept, and honor our prayer, with an answer.
    For example....
If we pray about our finances and say God I trust you to take care of our finances, to see that our needs are met, and be our sufficancy, but you tremble or get defensive about tithing.
You spend every waking moment worring about finances, what do you suppose that means?

No matter what words we use or how we say them......If there is any doubt or lack of faith in us, It will show in our hearts no matter what our words or thoughts are.......
And God is reading our hearts.

There is a verse in the bible that says......
    Matt 15:8
"`These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.

Remember the verse I started with?
The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
See when we tell someone we are sorry ....No matter what we say or how we say it God hears the heart.

See we are concerned about the outward appearance with people and somehow believe that if we can control our thoughts we can control what God believes about us.

But it is not our appearance or our words or even our thoughts that count with the Lord. No!
    See it says.......
but the LORD looks at the heart."
Jesus quoted Isaiah who was quoting God saying.....but their hearts are far from me.

I have told the story before of the little old lady that had a mountain between her house and the village, so that she had to walk for miles around this mountain instead of just a little way if the moutain wasn't there.
The bible says if you had the faith the size of a mustard seed you could say to this mountain go and be cast into the sea and it would go .Soooo she prayed.
    Be ye moved.......
    Be ye moved.......
    Be ye moved.......
It didn't move and she said heck. I knew it wouldn't work anyway. See, the problem wasn't in her words or thoughts or actions or with God. The problem was hidden in her heart.

Sometimes in counseling I will ask people if they have been praying about things and when they say yes they have, I am pretty sure that is not the answer that Jesus would report for them.

May be they went through the motions, Maybe even bowed their heads, said some words. Told God they wanted to be closer to Him, asked for only good stuff, you know, not to selfish, the problem is.........

The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
Past the outward appearances. Even past our thoughts. He is a discerner of the human heart. We can't fake that. We usually aren't even aware of it. When we pray,
Lord draw me closer to you, Lord, Make me a better parent, Jesus, help me mind my parents, help me not fight with my brother or sister. Make my brother or sister nicer to me. Lord, Make my kids behave, Show me your will, help me do this or accomplish that........

Consider...... if you mean it on your terms only.......or if according to His will counts.
When we reason with God in prayer and say I am trying to be a good person give me what I ask. Is that according to His will or just yours?

When you made that promise......And you and God know what promise that was.........was it according to His desire or only yours?

If your heart is right with the Lord then you can be sure that He will answer your prayers no matter how hard they may seem to you.
The Good news is you don't have to convince Him.......He can read your heart.

Lord, if you would teach us not to just say what we think you want to hear, But to let you show us what is really in our hearts, that we could learn to truly be in your will and see our prayers come to pass.
For we ask this in Jesus name. Amen!

Power of Faith is in the Lifestyle

    Jesus said,
"Do not store up treasures on earth..........But rather store up treasures in heaven".
Yet we suppose we can't support missionaries because we need to make sure we have something put aside for a rainy day.

We can't donate to feeding the hungry or clothing the naked until after we have covered the premium on our life insurance policy.

We short our support of the youth group to make sure we can pay the car payment--on a car much bigger and newer then we really need.

We hold back on our tithing to make sure we can handle the mortgage payment on a house with more bathrooms then some people have total rooms.

Which just points out that we don't have enough faith in Jesus to take Him at His word and believe what He said.
If we don't trust His words, then we have little faith in who He is.

When our savings, life insurance, car payment, and too-big mortgage come before the commands of Jesus, then we have compromised our faith in Him.

We need to understand that this compromised faith is the same faith we use when we pray for miracles of healing, salvation, or prosperity.
"It is the only faith we have"

Somehow we CLAIM to believe God for answers to these prayers; yet our actions say we don't-or can't-believe Him when he says to feed the hungry, give our tithe, support missions and lay up treasures in Heaven. Instead we save up, buy insurance, or get a newer car,and store up treasures on earth.

Then wonder why we don't see more healing of the sick.

Jesus said, "Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you also." We simply can't trust Him because our faith is so compromised by our lifestyles. We feel we must chase after all these things because if we don't then we won't have them. That is not what He said.

Yet we have the arrogance to pray......
    .....and so, we pray amiss!

Jesus said, "Honor your father and mother." Yet when the young teenager tells us they can't honor their father because he abused them, perhaps even sexually. We somehow assume that there must be an exception to the words of Jesus. This child is told that their father is not an honorable person and should not be honored; but should be in jail, and probably he should.

But to honor the parents has nothing to do with the parents, or how good and honorable they may or may not be. It has to do with the MIRACLE WORKING POWER of God; and I assure you the child needs the miracle working power of God. This child needs a touch from a loving God, a healing of the mind and heart, needs to feel safe again, get to the place of forgiveness, and finally back to honoring a parent.

This takes time, and it takes the prescence of God. If we have compromised our christiananity, and the christianity of the hurting by not having enough faith in the words of Jesus to take Him at His word. We then wonder why our prayers are not answered.
We have compromised our faith by assuming we know more then Jesus.

If you really want to see miracles happen, you need uncompromising faith in a miracle working God. The compromise is not in the faith we claim to have, it is in our LIFESTYLE which displays our faith to God, and to the world.

Jesus, the greatest spiritual warrior who ever walked on this earth. The Lord of all, and in fact very God Himsself, also said, "Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone takes your cloak do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". He said to lend without getting anything back, and your reward will be great.
    Christian; how are you doing?

~(The truth is if you REALLY believed that there is a God, and REALLY believed that there is a devil; a real heaven, and a real hell; and how you spent your life here, would decide where you would spent eternity; If you REALY, TRUELY believed all that; what words of Jesus would you compromise, or try to explain away?)~

Yet it is this same belief and faith we bring to prayer, and wonder why God doesn't produce miracles.

The power of faith, is in the lifestyle, because the lifestyle, is the outgrowth of our faith in God

Don't be right , be Christian

    But I'm Right!!

Being right is a good thing to be. Being right is important. We should always try to make sure that we are right. That we are in the right; and doing the right thing, at any given time.

It is, however, when we insist on being acknowledged as the one in the right, when we demand they admit we are right, that they give us the credit for being right, and that it should be done our way because we are right. And if they won't then we become filled with rightous indignation, we become insulted, offended, hurt, angry, or all of these and manage to successfully quench the Spirit of God. Even though we are in the right.

Being right is a good place to be, but, is almost never the point.

When God says to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and invite the homeless home, we always want to qualify that.
We want to ask, for example, "Why are they hungry? Are they working? Are they looking for work? Are they willing to work? You know the bible says if they won't work they can't eat". So maybe we are right.
    But is that the point?

Someone will always point out that if we give the begger on the street a dollar he will probably just buy some wine.Maybe that is true, maybe they are right.

    But is that the point?

We insist that we are right and know better how to handle the situation. So we take em to the sandwich shop and buy them a sandwich, so they won't go buy a drink instead. In our rightous indignation, we proudly make the decision for them, and we are quite pleased with our selves.

    He asks,
"Please don't qualify that, don't judge my request. I know the alcholic will probably buy a bottle of wine instead of food. But I need to have him make a decision, even if it is a wrong one. But if you will give the dollar out of love for me, and give it in my name, joyfully, with a pure heart, I can use that, to draw them to me. I can't use your judgement, not for anything,, even if you are right".
    And that is the point!

Perhaps you won the arguement, and made your point. Maybe someone should apoligize to you. Maybe they do owe you, and have never paid up. But maybe, if you would skip the argument, go ahead and apoligize anyway, or just forgive the debt, get your opinion out of the way, Then Jesus, could heal a life.
