"Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls."

Do you seek to know more about yourself and those around you? You have come to the right place, that is, if you have come seeking what God and His Word has to say to you!  - However, a word of caution - While your questions are welcomed, I plead with you to think before you post; more importantly, be very cautious as to what you request. Perhaps this illustration will drive this caution home:
First, today's subject is about one's belief. If you are a non-believer or a doubter, today's comments may provoke you to consider your position deeper. Should you be a believer, I will address that matter at a later date. Right now my intent is to address the subject of belief - we all have something we believe in - however, most beliefs were doubted in their infancy. In God's Word we find numerous examples of people missing out on God's blessings due to their unbelief.    One more side note:  please take note that I am not implying that you may be an atheist. However, perhaps you have a doubt, and if the term atheist is too harsh, please feel free to substitute the word "doubter" wherever the word atheist appears. In addition, should you be a female, please, I meant no disrespect - the individual in this illustration could have been a female as well (he, she, etc.). Thank you.

An atheist was strolling through the forest. As he proceeded he noted, "What magnificent trees!" "What powerful rivers!" "What stunningly beautiful animals!" As he continued walking alongside a small creek he thought he heard some crackling of brush somewhere behind him. As he turned to investigate the source of the noise he saw an enormous grizzly bear charging towards him! He immediately broke into a sprint; darting up a nearby pathway, fully intent on outrunning this oncoming beast! As he peered over his left shoulder he saw the grizzly was rapidly closing in on him! A second glance revealed the bear even nearer! The atheist then lost his footing and fell hard on the rocky ground beneath him. As he tried to regain some footing he saw that the charging grizzly was practically on top of him! The terrifying beast had its paws raised and ready to strike! It was then that the atheist screamed at the top of his lungs "Oh God!"
Time then came to a screeching halt! The charging grizzly froze in his place! Not a sound could be heard anywhere in that forest! Then a bright light appeared overhead, and a voice was heard from the heavens! "You've denied my existence for your entire life. You have even taught others the foolishness of creation; and now you seek my help? "What! Are you all of a sudden a believer?"
The atheist then starred directly towards the direction of the voice and replied, "I would be a hypocrite to seek your favoring me as a Christian at this time; however, would you consider accepting the grizzly as a Christian?" "Ok" came the reply.
Time regained its steady pace and all familiar forest sounds could be heard once again. The terrifying beast dropped its threatening paws and then stood still. The once menacing beast then bowed its large head and clasped its sharp paws and could be heard saying,
"Dear Lord, I thank you for this which I am about to receive from Thy bounty. In Christ's name, Amen."
                                          *********************************
                                                                                     *********************************************************************************************************
I suppose you can plainly see why I cautioned you to consider well what you may request. We all need to be very careful of what we may seek from God - He may grant that very thing!      Furthermore, along with it there may also be some other not so welcome consequences. ****************************************************************************************************************************************** It is for that very reason that a qualifier is in order now. We don't need to be fearful of seeking God's help in time of need. However, rather than seeking only our wishes, may I suggest seeking our desires as they may fall within the parameters of His will? As I proceed along these lines throughout the following weeks I will expand on this subject of God's will. For the time being let's understand the setting God Himself wishes for our communications with Him to be like. In the Bible, God's very Word, in the book of Isaiah, chapter 1, verse 18, God clearly sets the tone,    "  Come, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Therefore, knowing how God wants us to conduct our interactions with Him, we can now safely proceed - knowing without a doubt - where He stands!  Until we meet again -
May God's richest blessings be yours!
