    Your gracious keeping

    "
    The Gates of Prayer"

Anew I commend myself to Your gracious keeping this day.
Guide me by Your counsel--guard me from temptation--lead
me in the everlasting way. May every unloving thought--every
unworthy aim and aspiration--give place to what is pure and
unselfish and kind. May every idol that would usurp Your place
be overthrown. May no corrupt thought pollute my heart--no
unworthy utterance defile my tongue--no unholy action stain
my life. Preserve me from the world's insinuating, seductive
power--and from the treachery and deceitfulness of my own
    evil heart.

    Whatever is my dominant sin--
      ease or pleasure;
      pride or passion;
      covetousness or ambition;
enable me by the promised help of Your Spirit,
to subdue it--nailing it to the Redeemer's cross.

Defend me from every snare and danger
which may beset my path. Be . . .
      my Shield in prosperity;
      my Refuge in adversity;
      my Comforter in sorrow;
      my Light in darkness;
      my Hope in death;
      my Defender and Vindicator in judgment;
my Joy and Portion through all eternity!

published John MacDuff's "The Gates of Prayer",

I hope you will enjoy this.

    TO MAKE SUNSHINE:

Take two equal parts of FAITH and KINDNESS,
add enough LOVE for a suitable and even consistency. Blend in GENEROUSLY, THOUGHTFULNESS,
    add ENCOURAGEMENT to taste.
A pinch of CHEERFULNESS will improve the flavor.
Stir the whole thing with a hale and hearty laugh, and share with everyone.
    It'll grow on you.

Too much love never spoils children.

    Children become spoiled when we

    substitute "presents" for "presence."

    In his love,

    Paula

To have God in our life, doesn't mean saling on a boat with no

    Judgment!

    (William S. Plumer, "
The Rock of Our Salvation" 1867)

"For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil." Ecclesiastes 12:14

God has appointed a day in the which He will judge the world. Respecting this day several things are noticeable.

    All shall be judged.
    Saints and sinners,
    great and small,
    living and dead,
    the servant and his master,
the prisoner at the bar and the judge who sat on his trial,
    the assassin and the assassinated,
    the seducer and his victim,
    the invader and the invaded,
    the hireling and his oppressor,
    the king and his subjects,
the fool and the wise man,
    the persecutor and the persecuted,
    the apostate,
    the hypocrite,
the child of God and the child of the devil,
shall all be there! No one shall be so mighty, and no one shall be so lowly--as to elude the eye or the sentence of Him who shall sit upon the throne of judgment! What a massive multitude will this be--when prophets, apostles, martyrs, confessors, saints of all ages; when sinners, liars, infidels, blasphemers, moralists, and murderers--shall all be there; when the sea and the dry land shall give up their dead; when death and hell shall deliver up the dead who are in them; when all who lived before the flood, all who have lived since the flood, and all who shall have lived to the end of time shall stand before God! This will be the first and the last assembly--in which are found every person whom God ever made.

To God, it is a certain and fixed day. He has appointed it. Acts 17:31. Nothing can hasten it; nothing can retard it. The purpose of God concerning it is fixed, unalterable.

To all creatures, it is an unknown day. "Of that day and hour knows no man; no, not the angels of heaven."

The day of judgment will be THE great day. It will be the greatest day in the annals of the universe! It is the day for which all other days were made. This day is so well known to inspired men, that they call it the day, that day--as preeminent over all others.

It will be the LAST day. After it, time will be no more--time will cease to exist. Duration will no more be measured by seconds, minutes, days, months, years, centuries, cycles; but all will be boundless, shoreless, fathomless, unmeasured eternity!

It will be a day of astounding exposures. Villainy will be covered up no more. Every disguise will be taken away. There is nothing covered that shall not be revealed; neither hidden, that shall not be known.

It will be a day of intense excitement. There will be no listless spectators of those scenes. Every faculty of the intellect and of emotion will be aroused to the highest possible exercise. Men may sleep under sermons concerning the judgment, but they will not be dull when they go to judgment!

It will also be a day of final separation. The precious and the vile; the wheat and the tares; the sheep and the goats; saints and sinners--shall no longer mingle together. The separations of this day will be final. The righteous and the wicked shall part that day to meet no more.

It shall be a day of despair to all the unregenerate. Everywhere sinners will be crying to the rocks and the mountains: "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb!" Was ever despair more dreadful than this?

This will be a day full of surprise. Not only will it come unexpectedly, but its awards will fill both saints and sinners with astonishment. So Christ teaches at length in Matthew 25. The wicked will be amazed that they are lost. They will be especially surprised that God sets no value on their self-righteousness. The sons of God will receive more honor than they ever asked or thought of. The sons of Belial will receive more wrath than they ever feared. Christians will marvel why they are saved. Sinners will wonder why they are not saved. Many will be lost--contrary to the opinions formed of them by their neighbors. Many will be lost--contrary to the opinions they had formed of themselves!

"For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil." Ecclesiastes 12:14.

    The judgment is coming!

The Judge stands at the door!

    The time is short!

    In His Love,
    Paula

    Psalm 90:17
And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Cheryl loved her artwork. She could express so many things with canvas and paint that she couldn't express any other way. She showed the depths of her soul. All her work had a spiritual sense to it. It came from a deep and beautiful place inside her own soul. Cheryl felt that the image of God in her was best displayed through the works of her hands and heart.

Within each of us is a wellspring of beauty that comes from God above. How we express it varies from person to person, but it is there, nonetheless. Reach deep into your soul and share the wealth of beauty buried there. To do so is to share God.

    Prayer:

Enter into my life, O Lord, and make it something beautiful and special. Whatever talents I have are Yours. Bless them, that they might produce much, Father. Amen.

    THE PRAYING HANDS

The "Praying Hands" are much, much more
than just a work of art,
    They are the "soul's creations"
    of a deeply thankful heart
    They are a Priceless Masterpiece
    that love alone could paint,
    And they reveal the selflessness
    of an unheralded saint
These hands so scarred and toilworn,
tell the story of a man
    Who sacrificed his talent
    in accordance with God's Plan
For in God's Plan are many things
    man cannot understand,
But we must trust God's judgement
and be guided by His Hand  -
Sometime He asks us to give up
    our dreams of happiness,
Sometimes we must forego our hopes
    of fortune and success -
Not all of us can triumph
or rise to heights of fame,
And many times  What Should Be Ours,
    goes to another Name -
But he who makes a sacrifice,
    so another may succeed,
    Is indeed a true disciple
of our blessed Saviour's creed -
For when we "give ourselves away"
    in sacrifice and love,
We are "laying up rich treasures"
in God's kingdom up above -
And hidden in gnarled, toilworn hands
in the truest Art of Living,
Achieved alone by those who've learned
    the "Victory of Giving"
    For any sacrifice on earth,
made in the dear Lord's name
Assures the giver of a place
    in Heaven's Hall of Fame
And who can say with certainty
    Where the Greatest Talent Lies,
Or Who Will Be the Greatest
    In Our Heavenly Father's Eyes!

    The SEED

An emperor in the Far East was growing old and knew it was time to
choose his successor. Instead of choosing one of his assistants or his
children, he decided to do something different.

He called young people in the kingdom together one day. He said, "It is
time for me to step down and choose the next emperor. I have decided to
choose one of you. "The children were shocked, but the emperor
continued. "I am going to give each one of you a seed today - one very
special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here
one year from today with what you have grown from this one seed. I will
then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the
    next emperor."

One boy, named Ling, was there that day and he, like the others,
received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his mother the

! story. She helped him get a pot and planting soil, and he planted the
seed and watered it, carefully. Everyday, he would water it and watch to
    see if it had grown.

After about three weeks, some of the other youths began to talk about
their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow. Ling

kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew. Three weeks, four weeks,
five weeks went by. Still nothing. By now, others were talking about
their plants, but Ling didn't have a plant and he felt like a failure.

Six months went by--still nothing in Ling's pot. He just knew he had
killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had
nothing. Ling didn't say anything to his friends, however. He just kept
waiting for his seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the youths of the kingdom brought their
plants to the emperor for inspection. Ling told his mother that he
wasn't going to take an empty pot. But his mother asked him to be honest
    about what happened.

Ling felt sick at his stomach, but he knew his mother was right. He took
his empty pot to the palace. When Ling arrived, he was amazed at the
variety of plants grown by the other youths. They were beautiful--in all
shapes and sizes. Ling put his empty pot on the floor and many of the
other children laughed at him. A

few felt sorry for him and just said, "Hey, nice try."

When the emperor arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted the young

people. Ling just tried to hide in the back. "My, what great plants,
    trees,

and flowers you have grown," said the emperor.

"Today one of you will be appointed the next emperor."

All of a sudden, the emperor spotted Ling at the back of the room with
his empty pot. He ordered his guards to bring him to the front. Ling was
terrified. He thought, "The emperor knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will
    have me killed!"

When Ling got to the front, the Emperor asked his name. "My name is
Ling," he replied. All the kids were laughing and making fun of him.

The emperor asked everyone to quiet down. He looked at Ling, and then
    announced to the crowd,
"Behold your new emperor! His name is Ling!"
Ling couldn't believe it. Ling couldn't even grow his seed. How could he
    be the new emperor?

Then the emperor said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone here a seed.
I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me
today. But I gave you all boiled seeds that would not grow. All of you,
except Ling, have brought me trees and plants and flowers.

When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another
seed for the one I gave you. Ling was the only one with the courage and
honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one
who will be the new emperor!"

If you plant honesty, you will reap trust.
If you plant goodness, you will reap friends.
If you plant humility, you will reap greatness.
If you plant perseverance, you will reap victory.
If you plant consideration, you will reap harmony.
If you plant hard work, you will reap success.
If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation.
If you plant faith, you will reap miracles.

So let us be careful about what we plant now; it will determine what we
will reap tomorrow. The seeds we now scatter will make life worse or
better for us or for the ones who will come after us. Someday we will
enjoy the fruits or will pay for the choices we make.

    Super Christian

    Today's Scripture:  1 John 1:8-10

Today's Quote: In confession . . . we open ourselves up to healing, reconciling, restoring, uplifting grace of Him who loves us in spite of what we are. -- Louis Cassels

There was a Christian movie put out some years ago entitled, "Super Christian." It portrayed a churchgoing family who argued, bickered, and ignored God during the week, but put on a false sense of stability when they went to church. Each family member literally wore a "happy mask."

A.W. Tozer said, "I can offer no worship wholly pleasing to God if I know that I am harboring elements in my life that are displeasing to Him. I cannot truly and joyfully worship God on Sunday and not worship Him on Monday."

It's easy to "play church," gamely going through the motions, mouthing the words to the choruses, daydreaming during the sermon. But worship is more than a Sunday ritual.

In order to experience true worship, we must prepare our hearts through out the week, constantly seeking God, asking for forgiveness of our sin, and pleading for wisdom in our daily walk. If we come to church with hidden sins or a hard heart, we shut the door to experiencing growth.

What we do on Sunday is important - but just as crucial is how we treat God the other days of the week. Do we quickly discard Him on Monday for the life of the flesh or do we allow the Spirit to work in us?

    The Lord reigns!

    (William S. Plumer, "
The Rock of Our Salvation" 1867)

"The Lord reigns! He is robed in majesty!" Psalm 93:1

"The Lord reigns! Let the nations tremble!" Psalm 99:1

    Jesus Christ is--
      Lord,
      Master,
      Governor,
      Ruler,
      Shepherd,
      Prince,
      Prince and Savior,
      the great Prince,
      the Prince of Life,
      the Prince of Peace,
      the Prince of princes,
the Prince of the kings of the earth,
      a King,
      the King,
the King of kings and Lord of lords!

He is God over all, blessed forever!

Christ's kingdom is universal. It includes all worlds,
all creatures, all causes. Nothing in heaven, nothing
in earth--is outside of it. His saints praise Him. The
angels adore Him. The devils are subject to Him. The
king's heart is in His hands, and He turns it wherever
He will. His kingdom rules over all.

His kingdom is supreme. Nothing can shake it. Worms
cannot spit their venom so as to reach the stars in their
course. Nor can puny mortals reach the person or the
    power of our glorious Immanuel.

Christ's kingdom is omnipotent. By His own divine
efficiency He carries on His government. He upholds
all things by His powerful word. He does His will in
heaven and in earth. Not an empire rises or sinks,
but by His will. Not a sparrow falls to the ground,
without His notice. Every change on earth is by His
providence. He gives no account of any of His matters.

His work on His people is mighty.
    He subdues them to Himself.
He reigns as their Lord and Master.
    He chains their great adversary.
    He subdues their iniquities.
He strips the world of its fatal fascinations.
He makes them willing in the day of His power.
He leads them into all necessary truth.

"Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns!"
        Revelation 19:6

Joy: A Commmand or a Suggestion?

    Today's Scripture: Philippians 4:4

Is joy just a good idea in the Christian life or is it something that is necessary for success? Sometimes I get the feeling that believers feel the book of Philippians and its incessant theme of rejoicing, rejoicing, and more rejoicing a nice touch to your personality, but not that important.

But to rejoice is not merely a suggestion by God. Writing from a half-way house, chained to a hostile Roman guard, and betrayed by people he had led to the Lord, the Apostle Paul commanded Christians everywhere to make a choice to rejoice. And he was writing under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

Does that mean we're always happy-go-lucky? No. God doesn't want us to be smiling robots. In fact, God Himself grieves, especially when He sees us suffering. What it means is that in the midst of our toughest trials, we have a joy that springs from an abiding faith in God.

Rejoicing isn't easy -- that's why Paul had to repeat it over and over again in Philippians. But, joy is an essential part of our spiritual lives and a pillar of our faith. That's why it's important we make a conscious decision to daily choose to walk with the Lord, so that joy begins to come more naturally.

    Dr.James A Scudder

    My Rock!

    ("
Solitude Sweetened" by James Meikle, 1730-1799)

"The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my Savior,
my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield,
and the strength of my salvation, my stronghold!"
         (Psalm 18:2)

Do rocks defend me from blasts, from whatever
quarter they blow? So does my Rock!

Is the blast from hell? Well, He has the keys of hell and of death!

Is it from sin? He is my righteousness!

Is it from Satan? He has conquered principalities and powers!

Is it from afflictions? He is my sympathizing and loving High Priest!

Is it from losses? He is my exceeding great reward!

Is it from crosses? He makes all things work together for good to His people!

Is it from anguish? He is my joy!

Is it from darkness? He is my Sun!

Is it from doubts? He is my Counselor!

Is it from deadness? He is my life!

Is it from enemies? He is my shield!

Is it from temptation? He is my deliverer!

Is it from false friends? He will never leave me, nor forsake me!

Is it from solitude or banishment? He is everywhere present!

Is it from disease? He is my healer!

Is it from death? He is the resurrection and the life!

O glorious refuge! O sure defense! O everlasting fortress!
Here do I defy the worst that earth and hell can do!

Henceforth will I live by faith, in the MAN who is . . .
my hiding place from the wind,
      my shelter from the tempest,
my stream of water in a dry place,
my shadow of a great rock in a weary land--
until every blast has blown over, and not a threatening
cloud appears in my sky--until my heaven is beautified
with everlasting day, and every storm is swept from the
    air which I breathe!

"And a MAN shall be as a hiding place from the wind,
and a shelter from the tempest, like streams of water
in a dry place, like the shadow of a great rock in a
     weary land!" (Isaiah 32:2)

    Why Didn't You Come?
Julie Scudder Dearyan – Reflections from the Holy Land

    Todays Scripture:  John 11:1-45

Today's Quote: It is better to be with Christ in the storm than on the smooth water without Him.

Of all the dark moments described in the Bible, this had to be one of the darkest. Mary and Martha sat watching their brother die. Even though they sent word to Jesus, He hadn't come. Feeling lost and forsaken, they laid their brother in the tomb.

What they didn't know was that Lazarus had to die for God's will to be performed. Jesus was going to raise him up physically and as a result of His miracle, many would believe. Mary and Martha didn't know this in the darkness of their night.

Are you feeling that way about a trial in your life? Have you prayed many times for an answer but none has come? The loneliness and sorrow you feel is indescribable and yet I ask you to take hope.

The disciples were concerned with Jesus' inaction. To them Jesus should have immediately gone to Lazarus. I imagine them talking. John might have told Peter, "He better hurry. Maybe James should talk to Him about it." Judas might have said, "I thought Jesus loved Mary and Martha. Why hasn't He gone to heal their brother?"

Jesus came through with His perfect timing and He will do the same for you. He has never forsaken you in the past, and He won't forsake you now.

    .

    Remember not, O God,
    The sins of long ago;
    In tender mercy visit us,
    Distressed and humbled low.

    O Lord, our Savior, help,
    And glorify Thy Name;
Deliver us from all our sins,
    And take away our shame.

    In Thy compassion hear
    Thy prisoner’s plaintive sigh,
And in the greatness of Thy power
    Save those about to die.

    Then, safe within Thy fold,
    We will exalt Thy Name;
Our thankful hearts with songs of joy
    Thy goodness will proclaim.

    The Spiritual Cloak

    Today's Scripture: 1 Timothy 5:13

Today's Quote: Although the tongue weighs very little, few people are able to hold it.

Those who gossip have little to say that is good. They tear others down many times in a cloak of spirituality. How many times has a dear Christian been slandered in the form of a prayer request, "Would you pray for so-and so? I think they are having marriage problems." This might sound innocent, but if it doesn't meet up with the criteria of being pure, true, honest, and just found in Philippians 4:8, then it doesn't need to be heard.

I heard a preacher once describe people who sit, walk, and run. Now I believe in exercising as much as possible but this preacher wasn't describing physical activity. He was talking about how people react to gossip. The one who is sitting spiritually has all the time in the world to listen to slander. The one who is doing a little for the Lord by "walking" has some time to listen but not a lot.

Then there is the runner. This person is so busy for the Lord that he doesn't have time to do anything else. If you have ever seen a track meet, you sure don't see the runners running around the track gossiping to each other! We should all desire to be runners for Christ. Don't forget, there is an important side benefit to this. Your tongue will be much easier to control.

    Trust

     TRUST

    Because of JESUS
    I now can say,
    My mistakes were made
    Because I did not pray.

I was walking on the road
    Of sin and despair,
    Until JESUS heard
    My sinner's prayer.

    Because of JESUS I have
    Changed from my sinful ways.
    I now feel JESUS' love
    Growing inside of me everyday.

    Now I don't worry about
    The things of this earth,
    Or about what the possession
    Of this life are worth.

    Because of JESUS my only
Concern is to be in His Plan.
    As I hold onto
    His unchanging Hands.

    Wings Of Prayer

ON THE WINGS OF A PRAYER

Just close your Eyes and open your heart,
And feel your worries and cares depart.
Just yield yourself to the Father above,
And let him hold you secure in his love.

For life on earth grows more involved,
With endless problems that can't be solved,
But God only ask us to do our best,
Then he will take over and finish the rest...

So when you are tired, discouraged and blue,
There is always one door that is open to you,
And that is the door to The House of Prayer,
And you'll find God waiting to meet you there.
And The House of Prayer is no further away,
than the quiet spot where you kneel and pray.

For the heart is a temple when God is there
As we place ourselves in his loving care.
And he hears every prayer and answers each one
When we Pray in His name - Thy will be done.
The burdens that seemed too heavy to bear
Are lifted away on the wings of a prayer.

    Going Bananas :)

    A Banana A Day
    ===============

After reading THIS, you'll NEVER look at a banana in the same
    way again!

Bananas contain three natural sugars: sucrose, fructose and
glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant,
sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven
that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-
minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit
with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only
way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or
prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making
it a must to add to our daily diet.

    Depression:
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND, amongst people
suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a
banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of
protein that the body converts into serotonin, which is known to
make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel
    happier.

    PMS:
Eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood
glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

    Anemia:
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin
in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

    Blood Pressure:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet
low in salt, making it the perfect way to beat blood pressure.
So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed
the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's
ability to reduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke.

    Brain Power:
200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped
through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast,
break and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research
has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by
    making pupils more alert.

    Constipation:
High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore
normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without
    resorting to laxatives.

    Hangovers:
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a
banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the
stomach; and with the help of the honey, builds up depleted
blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your
    system.

    Heartburn:
Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body so if you
suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

    Morning Sickness:
Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar
levels up and avoid morning sickness.

    Mosquito bites:
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the
affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people
find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and
    irritation.

    Nerves:
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous
    system.

    Overweight and at work?
Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure
at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and
chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found
that the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs.
The report concluded that to avoid panic-induced food cravings,
we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high
carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

    Ulcers:
The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal
disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the
only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-
chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces
irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

    Temperature control:
Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can
lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant
mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas
to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

    Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):
Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural
    mood enhancer tryptophan.

    Smoking:
Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6
and B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium
found in them, help the body recover from the effects of
    nicotine withdrawal.

    Stress:
Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the
heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's
water balance. When we are stressed our metabolic rate rises,
thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced
with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

    Strokes:
According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine,"
eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of
death by strokes by as much as 40%!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you
compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the
carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the
vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals.
It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods
around. So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so
that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

    The Legend

    The Legend of the Dogwood

    There is a legend
that at the time of the Crucifixion
the dogwood had been the size of the oak
    and other forest trees.

So firm and strong was the tree
that it was chosen as the timber of the cross.

To be used thus for such a cruel purpose
    greatly distressed the tree,
and Jesus, nailed upon it, sensed this,
    and in His gentle pity
for all sorrow and suffering said to it,

    "Because of your regret
    and pity for My suffering,
never again shall the dogwood tree
grow large enough to be used as a cross.

    Henceforth it shall be
    slender and bent and twisted,
    and its blossoms
shall be in the form of a cross, . . .
    two long and short petals.

And in the center of the outer edge
of each petal there will be nail prints,
brown with rust and stained with red,
and in the center of the flower
will be a crown of thorns,
and all who see it will remember."

    Live By Faith

THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH

In these shaky days in which we live, every Christian needs to get a firm grip on the Word of God. What has happened today is that we have gone off into subjectivism, emotional feelings, ecstasies, thoughts, and philosophies rather than standing on the Word of God. There used to be a time when preachers would say, “The Bible says . . .” Then, they started saying, “The church says . . .” Now, they just scratch their heads and say, “Well, it seems to me . . .” No, we all need to stand on the infallible Word of God.

We are not do judge things by appearance. We are to live by faith – faith is the only resource we’re going to have in these days of moral relativism and humanistic philosophy.

The most powerful force on earth is faith. As Habakkuk says, “The just shall live by faith.” (Habakkuk 2:4b). That’s the verse that convicted Martin Luther and caused the Protestant Reformation during the dark ages. In these days and in these end times, you need to live by faith.

    A Message on Salvation

    Q. Can I Lose my Salvation?

Read what D.L. Moody had to say about salvation:

    • I propose tonight to take a subject, rather than a text and the subject is conversion. One reason I am led to take up this subject is because I received a large number of letters asking me, ‘How can I teach that a man be saved all at once. That salvation is instantaneous.” One of the writers goes on to say that it is clearly that conversion is a gradual thing. That is a life’s work and that it is a dangerous thing to teach that a man can come into this tabernacle a sinner and go out a saved man. Now let’s see what is taught in the Word of God. Let us see that God teaches instantaneous salvation. I hold to it as I hold to my life. I would as quickly give up my life as I would give up this doctrine.

Read what Charles Spurgeon had to say about salvation:

    • Heaven and earth may pass away, but that man shall never perish. If only one second ago I trusted the Saviour I am safe; just as safe as the man who has believed in Jesus fifty years, and who has all the while walked uprightly. I do not say that the new born convert is as happy, nor as useful, nor as holy, nor as ripe for heaven, but I do say that the words, "he that believeth on him hath everlasting life," is a truth with general bearings, and relates as much to the babe in faith as does to the man who has attained to fullness of stature in Jesus Christ.

If we can lose our salvation, then eternal life is not eternal.

    • God promises eternal life to those who believe. How long is eternal? It is forever. See John 6:47

If we could lose our salvation, then salvation would really come by our good works.

    • If there was something we were required to do to keep our salvation, then it would really be good works that is getting us to Heaven. Ephesians 2:8-9 says that salvation is “not of works”
    • Either Jesus Christ paid for all of our sins, or he paid for none of them. And when he died, he paid for our sins, past, present, and future. See Acts 13:39 and Colossians 2:13

Our salvation is kept by the power of God.
    • See 1 Peter 1:4-5 and Ephesians 1:13-14

The example of the Corinthians Christians

    • The Corinthians were engaging in serious sin, including getting drunk at the Lord’s table, gross immorality, and blasphemy. Paul rebuked them severely, but always referred to them as “brethren” and “the church” Clearly, while deep in sin, they were still saved.
    • The most egregious example of sinful behavior was the man in 1 Corinthians 5 who was committing adultery with his step-mother. Read 1 Corinthians 5:1-5. Notice that while Paul urged the Corinthian church to kick him out, yet noted that “his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”

What kind of Savior is Jesus?

    • If you are drowning in the ocean, what do you wish for?
o A man to jump into the water from a nearby ship and illustrate the backstroke? This would be a good example, but wouldn’t not help you in your dire situation.
o A man to toss a helpful book, To Easy Ways to Learn How to Swim? This man might be a great teacher, who could show you the way, but is this what you need?
o How about a man who dives into the water and miraculously rescues you from the waves, hauls you aboard his ship, feeds you a nourishing meal, and then dumps you back in the water, because you offended him? Would he be a Savior? No.
o What kind of Savior is Jesus? Jesus takes you from your peril (Ephesians 2 says we are dead in trespasses and sins), and not only saves you, but keeps you from harm.

Jesus wants you to know for sure you are going to Heaven.

    • Jesus wants to take away the guesswork of salvation. You don’t have to hem and haw, you don’t have to hope or wish for salvation. You can know for sure, absolutely, positively, 100%. See one of the greatest verses in all of Scripture, 1 John 5:13

    Paster John Hagee

I don't know if any of you have heard of Paster Hagee!

As for me i think he is a very good paster and a man that knows what he's talking about.

                                    Matthew 6:31-32

“Therefore take no thought, saying What shall we eat? Or, What shall we drink? Or, Wherewithall shall we be clothed? You’re your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

“There are things that happen in our lives that we do not understand, and that you can not explain, and that no one else can explain nor understand. There are things that happen in the life of every believer from time to time, for which you have no answer. It will happen. It happens in our health. It happens in our finances. It happens in our marriages. It happen in our businesses. It happens in our personal relationships with each other, with people in our family.

There are times when you've racked your brain until it aches and you cannot come up with an answer. There are times when you are in a bitter Gethsemane, just you and the Lord; when your heart is broken, just you and the Lord; when life makes no sense, and when the frustration of your soul is greater than your faith. This is a verse that will sustain you in times like that… ‘for your heavenly Father knoweth what you have need of.’ No chance has brought this thing to me. It is God's hand. It is meant to be. May the Lord add His blessing to the reading of the word. –

     Pastor John C. Hagee

    A Prayer

Please take a moment to relax your mind and humble your heart to
focus on Christ. Allow God to be the only person on your mind while
you read this prayer. If we can take the time to read long jokes,
stories, etc., we should give the same respect to this prayer.
Friends who pray together, stay together.

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day. I thank You for my being able to
see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving
God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You
keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done,
said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for Your
    forgiveness.

Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this
day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best
of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You.

Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things.

Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over. Let
me continue to see sin through God's eye and acknowledge it as evil.
And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my
wrongdoing, and receive the forgiveness of God.

And when this world closes in on me, let me remember Jesus' example --
to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. It's the best response
when I'm pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can't pray, You
listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will.

Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me
strong that I may help the weak. Keep me uplifted that I may have
words of encouragement for others. I pray for those who are lost and
can't find their way. I pray for
those who are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don't
know You intimately. I pray for those who will delete this without
sharing it with others. I pray for those who don't believe. But I
    thank you that I believe.

I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for
all my sisters and brothers. For each and every family member in
their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that
they are out of debt and all their needs are met.

I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem,

circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your
hands for You to fight. I pray that these words be received into the
hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses
    them willingly.

    This is my prayer.
    In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Just repeat this phrase and see how God moves!!
Lord I love you and I need you, thank you for living inside of my
    heart.

God blesses you. Know that you are already blessed by the person who
    sent this to you

2: Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

3: Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; weare his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
