Jn 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. The spiritual life that God has given us must be fed and nourished through the indwelling and teaching of the Holy Spirit. This nourishment or spiritual food is received through regularly studying the word of God, as the Spirit enables us to understand His word, and also through pastors, teachers and other believers, and to consistently live it out in relation to others, situations, circumstances and conditions in everyday life. Holy brethren, through correctly understanding and living out God's word, we transend " confort zones". We are not dependent on gurus, who come based on their own personal insights, and other personal achievements, such as titles, degrees, who can take us no farther than they have gone. These gurus come with formulas, steps, systems, multituds of special books and rituals purporting to gain deliverance for the person in need claiming to help them achieve happiness, wealth, weight loss, you name it. They pridefully claim that their knowledge arises out of themselves, and not God, or certainly not the God of the scriptures. But we have an Advocate on high He is Truth, and He is love who alone is to be trusted above and over all others. Dear children, holiness is not gauged on a scale of how much a saint (G40 hagios) weighs, although some might judge others in this way. God wants us to know Him and come to Him His way, not ours, not gurus. He alone is our God, guide, guard, Deliverer, Redeemer, Friend in deed, in need, Wonderful, Counselor. He is completely, eternally, perpetually faithful. He absolutely will not turn away from you and me, when we reveal to Him our sin/faults, missings of the mark, but will help and heal us. He will take us far above "quick fixes", short lived fads, and schemes to resolve our problems. I pray that any saint in need might understand where I am going with this, understanding that heretofore this is just the preparatory stage in our journey to deal with issues of overweight. Beloveds let us take our time with this issue, let us meditate on Jesus in understanding the riches of His love in us and to us, let us adore, and lift up sacrifices of praise to our great High Priest over the house of God, standing on the right hand of Majesty on High, who ever liveth, making intercession for the saints. love serola

Dearly beloveds, I saw yet other television shows on various ways the medical community was trying to deal with helping overweight persons. One program showed a medical device that would literally cause the fat in certain portions of the body to be heated up, and somehow dissipated. Another showed a medical device that would freeze the fat, and sorry, I just fell asleep at that point. So holy brethren we see that problems with weight affect the righteous and the unrighteous. My hope, dear, dear children of light is that any saint(G40 hagios) suffering in this way would refrain from self ridicule, and self condemnation, which will just compound the problem and continue to ensure failure to gain the control over the appetite that they greatly desire. Curiously some saints (G40 hagios) confuse doing this with repentance. Repentance has nothing to do with self condemnation, or self ridicule at all. Here we must get our understanding of what this problem represents from a biblical view, when we find ourselves tempted again and again engaging in a pattern of behaviors, or even thoughts, that we come to know by experience of the consequences are detrimental to us, and ultimately displeasing to our God. 1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. See also James 1:3-7. We can easily see from our Lord Jesus' word that temptations, no matter how horrible, dire, hard to deal with that affect people can be seen as "common to man". Unlike the ungodly, God's people have a sure source of help, that can never lie nor deceive. God Himself is available to help us even in this area, for He is ALWAYS Faithful and True. Until our Lord returns, we all will be dealing with some issue or sin, but through our Lord we find ourselves overcoming more and more. We find ourselves, by the grace of God being given the patience we need to promptly face temptation, with the correct spiritual attitude, assurance and confidence, that He never leaves us to fight our battles alone, He is always in us, and is our victory. Then again He gives us hope that He will keep you from going overboard in your situation, even telling you in His word what you shall gain through His help in James 1:3-7. Even if we find the situation to be very stressful, our Lord even tells us what attitude we must have that will bring glory to Him and be very beneficial to us. Some may ponder what is our part in this: first of all it is to trust and obey God out of love always, and be prayerful. Secondly we can take advantage in the natural of any relevant information about the problem and put it to use consistently. Some may ponder if they should employ surgical means of dealing with the problem. The saint that employs such means is neither less nor more holy than any other saint. My point here, children of light is that through our Lord, we can get at the root of problems, so that we do not simply "fix" one problem and than go on to develop the same problem in a different area. Beloveds it goes without saying, that Jesus is the reason for how we live out our lives, to please Him and not ourselves. Oh, I am not saying we should never have pleasure for ourselves, but I am saying true pleasure, delight, and joy is found truly abundantly in pleasing Him, who loves us and wants better for us than we want for ourselves. Let us stop here for now, dear ones. love serola
