    Begotten by the Word

James 1:18 of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures. John 1: 10-13 he was in the world, and he made the world, and the world knew him not. He came to his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power (The authority) to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Born of the Spirit, Jesus began to explain to Nicodemus that which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of spirit is spirit! He did not understand, he was thinking in the natural. But, Just as Jesus through the “Immaculate Conception” (The virgin birth) Born of flesh conceived by the Holy Spirit! I was impregnated by that word and, it brought forth fruit! I was begotten by the word! You have received the Spirit of adoption, adopted into the royal family of God; you are the Child of a King, The King of Kings, and The Lords of Lords! Royal blood now flows through your veins, I who was wretched and poor now can sing praise God, O’ praise God I’m the child of a King! We now cry, Abba, Father. Daddy! The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ! We have been brought forth out of darkness and translated into the kingdom of light! Thank God he made something out of nothing! The world was a dark place, void (empty), just as we once were but then, the Spirit of God began to move upon the face of the deep. And God said let there be light! The light shone in the darkness and, the darkness comprehended it not! God spoke the word and it was so! One-day God spoke a word into my heart, it was made manifest in my soul (Brought into perspective) and changed me completely! We have become precious in his sight. To beget means to cause or to produce, this lets me know that he is the cause and I am the effect (Something produced by a cause!). That seems simple enough doesn’t it, yet people make it so hard? Jesus said my yoke is easy. What is a yoke you say? A section of a garment fitting closely around the shoulders that joins us to him as a team (The garment of praise). Jesus and me we got our own thing going! This yoke is shared with every born-again believer! (2. A wooden bar used to join together a team of oxen or other animals that will cause them to work together). A wooden bar, does this sound familiar? It is the cross; since we have been begotten by the word, we must take up the cross daily and share in the splinters! It will cause us to pull together to produce the harvest that God so desires. The word begotten appears only six times in the entire Old and New Testaments. Five times referring to Jesus and the other time the word is used is describing Isaac, Abraham’s son, who was to be offered up as a sacrifice. Let’s take a closer look at this true and awesome story shall we? Genesis 22: 1-19 and it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, (He was led into temptation just as Jesus) and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. And Isaac spoke unto Abraham his father, and said, my father: and he said, here am I, my son. And he said, behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, my son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And they came to the place, which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. 10And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that you fear God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. 14And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah jireh: as it is said to this day, in the mount of the LORD it shall be seen. And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba. That’s the Old Testament account now let’s go to the place where in the New Testament where it describes Isaac as an only begotten, we find this in the great hall of faith Hebrews 11: 17-19 by faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. (The Ram caught in the thicket) The Old Testament is a schoolmaster; it is full of types and shadows of things that were to come to pass. Abraham father of the faithful a type of God and Isaac the type and shadow of the Christ (The anointed one) and I hate to think what would’ve happened if Abraham withheld his son his only begotten son! There is great spiritual significance in this account of Abraham and his son. It is commonly believed that if Abraham had not been willing to offer up his son, it would’ve had grave consequences for us. This type of blood sacrifice was to seal the covenant that God made with Abraham, just as Jesus God’s only begotten Son, God’s word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth! His blood sacrifice became the new covenant and made us who we are in Christ! It’s a new and a living way, written in his own blood. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, For he said, “lo I come in the volume of a book (It is written of me) to do thy will O’ God! No other name but Jesus a given among men whereby we must be saved. Begotten by the word! This is not an apostolic message; I am not discounting the Father not in the least, there is a reason why God said, “Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee” The logos word (Written) had to become the reahma word (The spoken word) the office of the Son was created by the spoken word of God (Eloheim) that is why Jesus said, “ all power (Authority) has been given unto me in Heaven and in earth” If it was left up to God the Father he probably would have wiped us all off the face of the earth. However authority was given over to Jesus by the Father to allow mercy instead of judgment. This is a very deep study and I really don’t want to go too deep into it because that is actually a whole new message. Romans 11:16-27 this next section is an analogy and shines a lot more light on the subject. For if the first fruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them that partake of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, you do not bear the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, the branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. Well because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Be not high-minded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shall be cut off. And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As he said also in Hosea, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God. Simple Right? Allow me to break it down for you. The Jews were the first fruits (The Olive tree that grew wild!) the chosen ones begotten by the Word! (The word or covenant given to Abraham) now some of the branches were broken off (Because of unbelief) and the gentiles (You and I) were grafted in. But don’t be high-minded but fear God (Which is the beginning of wisdom) For if God did not spare the natural branches (The Jew) take heed lest he also spare us not. At this point I would be remiss if I did not bring in John 15:1-8 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes it away: and every branch that does bear fruit, he purges it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word, which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abides not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. We can be grafted in but as a branch we must be purged that we may bring forth more fruit. However if we bear no fruit at all we will be taken away (Cut off)! That is the perfect example of the goodness and the severity of God. On them which were broken off severity, but toward us goodness! If we continue in His goodness! Then the writer said, “I would not have you ignorant of this mystery my brethren lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. That is why we pray for the peace of Israel. It is the letter of the law that kills, but it is the Spirit of God that makes us alive in Christ, has made us clean through the word, which he has spoken unto us! We who were once dead in our trespasses and sin have been brought back to life in Christ, begotten by the Word!
