"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers, For there is no power but of God: The powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordiance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation" Romans 13:1-2 According to Joel Stein (Columnist for the Los Angeles Times) 'Heaven is totally overrated. It seems boring. Clouds, listening to people play the harp. It should be somewhere you can't wait to go, like a luxury hotel. Maybe blue skies and soft music were enough to keep people in line in the 17th century, but Heaven has to step it up a bit. They're basically getting by because they only have to be better than Hell.' There is a sad truth to what was said here by Joel; if one stops to consier that this is the same view of many of our Brethren in the faith. That they only have to be a step above Hell to be accept into Heaven. According to the Word it takes more then being a step up.... "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is you responsable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12: 1-2 What testimony do we as the Body of Christ do we project? The Spirit of the Living God or that of a Dead god.... "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." Romans 14: 17 Should we not live as though we can't wait to get to Heaven; after all it is more then clouds and harp music...
