    ACTS 2:38

    ACTS 2:38

An elderly woman had just returned to her home from an evening of Church services when she was startled by an intruder. She caught the man in the act of robbing her home of its valuables and yelled, "Stop! Acts 2:38! " (Repent and be baptised, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven.)
The burglar stopped in his tracks. The woman calmly called the police and explained what she had done. As the officer cuffed the man to take him in, he asked the burglar, "Why did you just stand there? All the old lady did was yell a scripture to you."
"Scripture?" replied the burglar. "She said she had an Axe and Two 38's!"
PASS THIS ON TO SOMEONE WHO NEEDS A LAUGH TODAY
and remember knowing scripture can save your life in more ways than one

    Living "In the Meantime"

    > LIVING "IN THE MEANTIME"
    >
    > Introduction:  Life is filled with twists and turns.  And, just when we
    > think we have finally got it together - life happens again! In order to
    > live the life that God has planned for us, we must learn how to live, "In
    > the meantime."  The meantime is that space in between things.  It is the
    > place of waiting and hoping to see God's answers to your many prayers.
    > The meantime can seem like forever, and in actuality can be as short as an
    > hour or as long as many years.
    >
    > We believe God - yes we do - but in the "meantime" we need to learn how to
    > cope, how to live, and how to move forward.
    >
    >                               TEN STEPS TO LIVING IN THE MEANTIME
    > 1]  Put no confidence in the flesh (Phil. 3:1) Do not lean on your own
    > understanding.  Acknowledge God and have confidence that He will direct
    > your path. (Proverbs 3;5-6)
    > 2]  Seek to know God in the middle of your circumstance (Phil 3:10) Find
    > courage in knowing that in the "meantime" there are valuable life lessons.
    > 3]  Believe that things happen to you that something can happen in you
    > (Phil. 1:19)
    > 4]  Ask for courage to live one day at a time (Phil 1:20)
    > 5]  Practice perspective each day, remembering you are His (Phil. 3:15-20)
    > 6)  Rejoice - find joy in the Lord (Phil. 4:4)
    > 7]  Do not worry - instead pray (Phil. 4:6)
    > 8]  Give thanks that God is with you, and that He is faithful (Phil. 4:6)
    > 9]  Look for good, search for it each day as a hidden treasure, don't miss
    > the sparkle
    >     of the present while in the "meantime" places of life (Phil. 4:8)
    > 10] Receive His peace, thankful that He will supply every need you ever
    > have - today
    >     and tomorrow, knowing that you can live in any circumstance because of
    > Christ Jesus
    >     who gives you the strenth (Phil. 4:7, 11, 19)
