          My thoughts regarding Bible passages.

    Fri, Dec 12th - 9:36AM

    The Root Of Our Thoughts

Mark 12:30-31  you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. The second is like this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

In his last teaching, before his health tragedy, Pastor Scott said that ANYTHING you worship, think about, let rule you, believe other than Him and do the above, IS A FALSE GOD.  Now, I know there are those out there that are going to take offense and, maybe, totally disagree with me on what I am about to say, but, this includes putting the rules of the saints ABOVE those of Christ. This is not easy. The rules of the saints are patterns to reach for. Not necessarily reached.

If I spent my day telling everyone around me exacting my feelings on how they are living, I would not have one friend. And I could preach Bible verses to back up everything I say to them. The only thing I would do would offend them, turn them away from the God I am trying to help draw them to, and end up without anyone wanting to listen or be around me.

The first commandment takes a lot more time than the second. Why? Because it means to take the time to communicate with God. At night I wake throughout the night. When I do I wake communicating with God and go back to sleep while talking with Him. During that time I am at my most vulnerable because my mind is clear of most thought other than Him. This is when I realize that sometime in my life I have been guilty of the very things that I am now seeing in others. How enslaving I was of others, making sure they provided what I needed with no thought as to their needs. How much better I was to them, in my eyes, and how bitter that they could not see how wonderful I really was. How I sacrificed so that I would be applauded for all the good I did. How I stepped out and tried constantly to martyr myself, so that everyone would remember my dedication and loyalty. I had a veracious appetite for sex and allowed myself to be used and abused, thinking this was the way to love and I would never be loved without it. All I wanted, I kept telling myself was to be appreciated. I got very messed up in the occult. There are areas there I still do not want to talk about. But I became a stalker, and am still very embarrassed about that. In other words, I allowed satan to really have a ball with me. All along thinking, I was ok. I was like everyone else. Except I had a conscious that kept bothering me. I kept ignoring it, but, it would not ignore me. Sending nightmares that I learned to fall in love with. I became a closet “Goth”. Living mentally in tombs as a vampire. All along thinking that I was sacrificing myself to protect others. Protect them from what? I was the monster!

I tell you all of this to let you know just how far your fantasies can take you before you even realize. Who or what is at the root of your thoughts? ANYTHING that is not of the Kingdom of God, the commandments of Christ, is a false god!

Now whenever I have ANY thought that would be of earthly passion, (I am celibate), violent, distorted, anything I know is not appropriate for my lifestyle today, I pray this prayer:

    Dear Lord,

Please remove satan and his governments from my mind. body, heart, soul, and spirit and those of all living things under my roof. Please wrap me and all living creatures, (other humans or even pets) with Your Protective Arms. Wrap Your Protective Arms around my apartment, (house, trailer, etc) and do not allow evil to enter in. In Jesus name. Amen

I pray this every twenty-four hours. It is also good to pray The Lord’s Prayer as well. You will be surprised how, after a while, you will notice a difference in the atmosphere. You will grow closer to the Lord and others will notice a difference when they walk into your home. I am doing all I can to become more humble because when you love Him as much as you can, you will want to do all you can. God bless.

This is an email update by Soul Winners Administrator.

    Dear Friends,

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  This message is being sent for prayer requests for our beloved Pastor Scott Davidson.  On Dec 1, 2008, Pastor Scott Davidson became ill with acute right side rib cage pain, uncontrollable vomitting, high fevers and chills.  He was admitted to Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton OH on Dec 2nd.  On Dec 4th, he underwent a surgical procedure for removal of a gallbladder stone that was blocking the bile duct.  Also, a temporary shunt was placed for any future stones.  On Dec 6th, Pastor Scott had a laparoscopy surgery for removal of the galbladder.  Unfortunately a complication has arisen due to the second surgery.  One lung is partially collapsed.  Both lungs are suffering from inflammation and fluid.  He is having breathing difficulty.  As a result of this complication, breathing has become painful.

He is scheduled for a third surgery on Dec, 29th at 9:00 am.

Please pray for Pastor Scott and his family.  As you can only imagine, this is a very difficult time for Pastor Scott, Suchi, the children and the Soul Winners family.

For the sake of effective communication, we will be updating our website when new information is available.  For further inquiries, please call (937) 220-9488.

    We appreciate your prayer support.

    Sincerely,

    Hollie Henson, Director of Administration

Those Who Play With the Word of God

Luke 16:17  And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one dot of the law to fail.

Mankind today does not see the difference between the evil imaginings of his heart and the truth of the Word of God. Blaspheming the Word of God by twisting or changing the meaning is extremely dangerous territory.

Revelation 22:18  For I testify unto every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

Revelation 22:19  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

In the end of the New Testament there is a warning. Some take it just for Revelations and others for the entire Bible. This warning is not just an ancient copyright. There is not a negotiation. Of course since no one will see the threat come to pass, until the fulfillment, we can just brush it off as just part of the fanaticism of evangelical Christianity and just as imaginary as all other “religious” threats.

Deuteronomy 29:19  And it comes to pass, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of my heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:

Deuteronomy 29:20  The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.

It is too bad that we have allowed satan to whisper in our ear, “You surely will not die.” Oh, no. After all, we were not in the Garden of Eden and do not know what it could have been like not to die. So, we have no knowledge that we will be totally removed from creation. What would that even feel like? Do we even care?

Too much has been made into a joke. Life is to be taken lightly. Well, yes, this life can be taken lightly because we are not for this life. But, when we take the experience God put us here for so that we can be ready to be with Him forever, as a joke, then, we are walking on very dangerous areas. Taking God at His Word is very wise and should be treasured, not used as the butt of jokes.

Sin does take God as a joke and sees no difference in God being a object of imagination any less than any other myth. A forest full of fairies, trolls, dragons, etc. are as real as Christ? Confusion is so great that someone almost stood up in church and started to say that Christ pulled the sword from the stone, (a myth involving an English king named Arthur).

Today mankind is trying to prove that it is not what you believe, only that you believe it. That faith in anything is much better than no faith at all. Satan will show you that distorted faith can bring physical healing, but, destruction of the mind. Madness can be traced to misplaced faith.

Today satan is confusing the believer into thinking that all that is needed is to do good and show compassion. There is no need to worship a God. Church should be a social organization that does good and builds relationships. Do not get me wrong, with the belief in God and death on the cross for my and your sins and repentance; good deeds are great as well as building love for one another. But belief, repentance, acceptance, and obedience to the Words of God comes first. Then, the other things follow. The cart cannot come before the horse. But it is so easy to say, “The Bible says to love one another.” And take it to mean to accept the sins of one another.

Genesis 6:5  Yahweh saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

This is the heart of man. How can we love one another? Love those who love Him. Pray for those who do not know Him that He will send someone to go to them and lead them to Him. If you can, do it. Only through Him can we love each other. And it is only through His Word that we come to Him. When that is distorted or corrupted, then, satan jumps with glee that we are once more confused right into his hands. It is through confusion that he tricks us right back to him. Please pray that those who wish to have another religion should start a new religion and not corrupt the Word. For those who really know Christ, we know that the whole world is different to us and life is so much sweeter. Without people really believing the truth of His Word they will never see the awesome beauty of what God always intended.

For those who have heard or know Pastor Scott Davidson, he is in Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio and will go into surgery Saturday for removal of his gall bladder. Please send your prayers. Thank you.

    Give All You Can

Last week’s teaching by Pastor Scott Davidson was about giving all you can for Jesus Christ. I don’t know how to get that across to those who feel that entertainment, things, the world around them is more important than giving all you can to someone who gave His Life for you. And not just thinking that He was just another that gave His Life. But, that He created everything that was used to take that Life. He created all the creatures that caused His Life to be taken. Sin is an offspring of those He created. It was not something He had hoped would exist. But it does because those He created wished it so. So, it exists and if we want an honest, close relationship with our Creator, who made us and everything for us, then we are going to have to remove or kill the sin in our lives so that we can see through the clutter and understand finally that we are His, and not our own. When we think that we belong to ourselves, we are blinded to the fact that this is not our environment, not our planet, not our universe, not our creation.

Recently, there are those who are trying to rewrite history to the point where they will show that man created everything. Oh, my, how far from Him we have fallen.  Our worst enemy is not satan. What? Isn’t he the one that misleads us. Cons us. Tempts us. Trips us. Causes us to sin?

No. Satan hides the fact that our worst enemy is, in fact, OURSELVES! Our whole society is geared to ME. We paint ourselves with little signs that say “look at me”. We dress ourselves so that people will admire ME. We drive the latest models so that everyone will see ME. Everything around us must be neat and tidy so that we won’t get lost and people will see ME.

Satan merely appeals to our VANITY. And, boy, are we VAIN. If we can’t have the perfect body, so everyone will be attracted to ME, we dream of having it, through the worship of movie stars, etc., or we have it sculpted, if we can afford to, or make our problem so critical that we have it sculpted through emergency so our insurance will pay for it.

All the while we are playing with something that does not belong to us. We did not create ourselves, but were created. Therefore who gave us the right to treat ourselves and our lives as though we own them?

Galatians 5:24  Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

If we truly belong to Christ, we see a falling away of the longings to make ourselves the center of our lives. We no longer concentrate on how different we are from others, but more about how we can be of use to the one who gave all.

1 John 2:19  They went out from us, but they didn't belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have continued with us. But they left, that they might be revealed that none of them belong to us.

Sadly, there are those who do not understand what it means to totally surrender to Him. Those only catch the part about being saved but, continue to live as if nothing has happened. When this happens they put themselves above Christ much the way satan put himself above God.

The center of attention should shift when we give ourselves completely to Him. No long have we worries as we can give them to Him. No longer have we fear as we now revere Him. In so doing we can be strong through Him.

When one becomes one with Christ, one begins to think like Him, and live like Him. Peacefully. More and more distain grows from disharmony, and grief. Strife becomes a thing of the past as we slowly stop, “bucking against the pricks”. Turn around, they are gone!

Our relationship with Christ can be one of joy and companionship unlike any other relationship on earth. And it does not end here. It is the “and they lived happily EVER AFTER relationship you hear about as a child. Children believe in ever after. Adults lose that concept as they view the death of the body of a loved one or friend.

As Pastor Scott says, “It is not what you see…” Reality is not always just what you see. But, it can be something so much more wonderful. Truth is in Jesus Christ and we all can be a part of it.

We have to realize that whatever it is, it belongs to God. And that includes what ever we do. Therefore we need to give it all we can.

Pastor Scott’s podcasts are becoming more and more important in showing how to be an ambassador for Christ. Pastor Scott’s podcasts can be heard on Soul Winner Radio, http://www.melcena.com/swr and downloaded on Pastor Scott’s page on the station website and on iTunes. God bless.
