I bet there are some sore arms in Washington. It is a good thing that a three-day weekend was just around the corner. Those who sat in on Roger Clemens' hearing before Congress regarding steroid use in baseball could use some steroids themselves.

Wrestling makes one sore and I am not sure that there is enough Ben Gay ( I’m going to resist the urge to joke about Still Gay) for all of the soreness that wrestling for media attention during the Clemens' hearing has caused. I don’t know if you watched it or not but every seat on the committee was filled. I’m not talking about the audience; I’m talking about the committee members. If you ever have insomnia and you turn on C-SPAN you will notice that most committee meetings are very poorly attended by our elected officials.

Well, not the very important meeting on Roger Clemens and his alleged steroid-use. No, sirree, there was standing room only for Clemens’ turn in the rotation against the Washington Nationals. He can fill seats in Congress as well as he does in Yankee Stadium. But the real purpose of the “hearing” was for those in the “halls of Congress” to get a chance to hit a home- run off of a “Hall of Famer.”

We would be better off if our elected officials got a job on the TV show “Law and Order” rather than being the ones assigned the job of maintaining law and order. Face-time, that’s what the hearing was about. A chance to be on the same field with America’s greatest pitcher and to make sure that each “official” was able to let us know what a “serious issue” steroid use was and how “America’s pastime” was in danger of collapsing. My goodness, America is almost past- time!

Let me point out right here that I think steroid use among high-school aged students is dangerous. Here is some very scary information on the dangers. But Congress has no business investigating the “medication-use” of a private citizen.

I couldn’t help but feel, as I watched it live on CNN, ESPN, FOX NEWS, that somehow the wrong people were asking the questions. I would much rather have seen the roles reversed -- and it would have sold more tickets if Roger Clemens had been asking the questions. I was much more interested in whether drug use was affecting Congress than I was in whether or not Clemens had used steroids when facing Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, or Sammy Sosa. (I remember hearing something from those officials about making sure the “playing field was level.”) That’s all Clemens was doing. When facing Bonds, do as Bonds does.

I almost had a conniption fit when I heard one of the inquisitors remind Clemens that “lying to Congress was a crime.” Hmm, I thought. Is lying while IN Congress a crime?

Don’t you have to wonder if any members of Congress had been abusing “performance debilitating” drugs and alcohol while doing the nation’s business?

I say it is time to drug- test Congress.

Shortly after the hearings had concluded in Washington D. C., a young man who had recently “gone off of his meds” went hunting for humans at Northern Illinois University. The media is very careful to focus on the number of guns that he carried, the number of shots that were fired, and questioned how it was possible that a “mentally-ill” man could legally get a gun, but failed to make the connection between psychotropic drugs and the killing of young humans by those using such “legal” concoctions. Here is one example.

Instead, Congress holds hearings on drug-abuse by a private citizen in baseball. How about hearings on psychotropic drug-abuse, the fraud being perpetrated by the psychiatrists in America, and the billions of dollars the drug companies make off of made-up illnesses.

Instead of focusing on the “Hall of Famer” we should turn our sights to the “hall of shamers.” Legalized prescription drug-use is killing our kids as Congress investigates baseball.

Do you think Congress knows the answer to this question? What factor links-together nearly all of the recent school shootings in America?

The answer is not “Steroids in Baseball” or Natalee Holloway’s “date-rape drug.” No, my dear, it is use of psychotropic drugs. Use of these “medications" are more dangerous than steroids. ” (Funny, isn’t it, steroids are drugs; Ritalin is “medication.”) Look at this partial list of those who have killed others while “under the influence” of their “medication.”

And now, Northern Illinois University is in mourning, not because of a juiced-up Clemens fastball, but because Steven Kazmierczak threw a high-hard one. Hey Congress! How many innocent people are dead as a result of steroids in baseball?

I think our elected officials need to submit to random drug testing. How many shady deals do you think have been negotiated after some “public official” had a few too many “mood altering medications?” Instead of outlawing steroids in professional sports how about outlawing the use of alcohol and drugs when discussing legislative business? If we could keep them from agreeing to “cocktail conspiracies” maybe their minds would clear enough to “clean up” Congress the way they want to “clean up” baseball.

Drug-use in government is a far bigger threat than drug-use in baseball. Rather than sticking their ruby-red noses into baseball, how about they have public hearings on:

• The Constitutionality of the Income Tax.

• What our Founders believed about the role of the Church in government.

• How a man can be charged with first-degree murder for killing an unborn baby while women can choose to do it 4000 times a day with impunity.

• How the private Federal Reserve System has enslaved America.

• How our kids are purposely being dumbed-down in “public” schools.

• Whether the “War on Terror” is a religious war?

• What are the greatest threats to America? I dare you to watch this! Just click and wait.

• Is MRSA the new AIDS?

• Where the National Education Association is spending it’s money.

• The security of electronic voting. (This is worth watching.)

• The North American Union.

• Why Planned Parenthood is receiving our tax dollars to kill babies.

• The health consequences of homosexuality.

• The selling of America to Chinese interests.

• The abortion-breast cancer link.

• Law-enforcement ethics.

• Investigating the ACLU under the Federal RICO Statute.

• Planned Parenthood and “black genocide.”

• How many of the 1963 Communists' goals have been established in America.

That is just for starters, sort of a “spring training” for restoring this nation. Please watch this 7 minute video (Some foul language) and then ask yourself why Congress is spending so much time on trivial pursuits. How did “We the People” lose such control?

Our Congressional leaders are either traitors, ignorant, or on drugs. I think it is time we found out which one it is.

I say it is time to drug-test Congress.

What is all of the fuss about? Mad cow disease is nothing new. It has been poisoning America for years.

It is an insidious disease, scientists tell us, attacking the central nervous system. The results are not immediate, sometimes taking years to manifest, but the results are devastating. It slowly hinders ones ability to think, leading eventually to dementia and the total loss of the power to reason.

"Is our meat supply safe?" the headlines ask. Can you trust Wendy’s and McDonalds? Can you be sure that the meat at your local grocery is not tainted? Just to be safe, maybe it would be wise to stop eating meat.

Perhaps we should ask pastors the same questions. Is the meat they are serving us safe?

The Church, for generations the central nervous system of America, has been ravaged by Mad Cow. Once the safe-guard of our nation, she has lost her ability to reason. How else can you explain the inability to distinguish those who are churched from those who are not? Dementia is running rampant because we have been fed a contaminated Gospel.

Hebrews 5-14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

The disease infected us quietly. Despite the firm warning of some of our veteran chefs, our seminaries were turning out a new breed of cooks, with fancy recipes for a new casserole. It looked good, it tasted fine, and it appeared to have no negative effects on those who ate it. America, we were told, was ready for a new dish, one that could be easily prepared in the micro wave, and we liked this new chef. He seemed like such a nice man. Certainly he would not give us tainted food.

Many pastors were leery at first, holding fast to older, proven methods, warning about the dangers of feeding people this rotten flesh. But gradually, as they began to watch those short-order cooks who served this meat grow larger churches, the temptation became too great. This new, improved hamburger helper, flavored not with salt, but with the spices of diversity and tolerance, looked and smelled the same. But it was easier to digest than the food the pastors use to serve and it required almost no chewing. Seven course meals were out and fast food was in. Three points and a poem replaced fire and brimstone.

"Feed my sheep", Jesus said. So the churches did. The new, seeker-friendly menu was great for business. The cafeteria was full, and more customers were coming every week. A generation starving for spiritual nourishment was being spoon fed poison meat.

Consider the entrees these enlightened chefs served.

"Jesus loves you in spite of your sin. He will be your best buddy"
"Divorce is okay because God wants you to be happy"
"Jesus died to deliver you from poverty. He wants you rich"
"God made you gay. He loves you and so do we"
"Abortion isn’t murder. It is a difficult choice between a woman and her Dr."
"Open hearts, open doors, open minds"
"Who are you to judge?"
"All religions are the same. People just have different names for God."

Sort of makes your stomach growl, doesn't it?

Pardon my cold-heartedness PETA, but the chickens have come home to roost.

Someone call the FDA! Some pastors are spreading Mad Cow disease and America is losing her mind!

Check the symptoms. Gays want to marry and churches bless the union. In fact, we now have gays offering the sacraments. MOO!

Fifty percent of all Christian marriages end in divorce and the Church crows about defending the sanctity of that union. MOO!

We have condoms to prevent disease and abortion to prevent children. MOO!

We educate our kids in Godless schools but rave about their sports program. MOO!

But why worry? Our attendance is up and so is the Dow. Things are looking better.

Mad Cow has taken over. We are losing our minds.

In the area where I live Amish food is gaining popularity. Restaurants serving "Home-style cooking" have customers standing in line. Sick of fast food and microwave dinners Americans are finding something of value in the old ways of cooking. It has a more lasting taste, and as Grandma used to say, it "sticks to your ribs".

We need a new diet. The time has come when pastors must feed the flock something that "sticks to the ribs". Years of greasy Grace have lead to a dazzling showcase but an empty stockroom. Rewrite the menu and include some old family basics.

"The soul that sins, it shall die"
"God hates the workers of iniquity".
"In righteousness He doth judge and make war."
"Be not deceived for God is not mocked. For whatsoever a man sows, that also shall he reap."
"Be ye Holy, for I am Holy".

Alexis de Tocqueville is credited with having said:

"I sought for the key to the greatness and genius of America in her harbors…in her fertile fields and boundless forests; in her rich mines and vast world commerce; in her public school system and institutions of learning. I sought for it in her democratic Congress and matchless Constitution. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because America is Good, and if America ever ceases to be good America will cease to be great."

Any nutritionists will tell you "You are what you eat." America, look in the mirror. Do you like what you see?
