    Mothers message

    Hello again,

God bless all of the Mothers and Mothers to be today. Today I think back on all of the great times I had with my Mother before her passing on to be with the Lord. I remember as a child the days she would get up on Sundays and we would go to church. Now that my wife is expecting, she knows the values of instilling the traits of church at a young age. I can’t even imagine not giving our child the upbringing of a Christ filled home. So many children of today do not even know what the inside of a church looks like. You as a Mother have a special bond that Fathers do not understand. God created you to give birth, and then to fight for your children. You have the power to influence a generation that is slowly becoming lost. I really don’t think you would carry your gift from God for 9 months just to see them become lost from the same one who created them inside of you. Step up to the plate Moms, and become a person whom your child can look up to and make sure you fight to keep them on the right track. Maybe, when they have kids of their own, the mother of that household will pass it on……Although I may have strayed for a long time…I know my Mother did not stop praying for me, and even after her death, I know she was having conversations with Jesus to protect me until I came to my senses….Thank you Mom……..

John Killinger’s book Lost in Wonder, Love, and Praise includes the following affirmation:

    A Mothers Love

I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God,

who was born of the promise to a virgin named Mary.

I believe in the love Mary gave her Son,

that caused her to follow him in his ministry

and stand by his cross as he died.

I believe in the love of all mothers,

and its importance in the lives of the children they bear.

It is stronger than steel, softer than down,

and more resilient than a green sapling on the hillside.

    It closes wounds, melts disappointments,

and enables the weakest child to stand tall

and straight in the fields of adversity.

I believe that this love, even at its best,

is only a shadow of the love of God,

a dark reflection of all that we can expect of him,

both in this life and the next.

And I believe that one of the most beautiful sights

in the world is a mother who lets this greater love

flow through her to her child,

blessing the world with the tenderness of her touch

and the tears of her joy.

    My son was baptized today!

All praise be to the Lord!!!!!!!!

Today was a new beginning for my son. Today at the church we saw 95 people baptized for the Lord. My son was one of them. As he continues to grow in Christ, I am sure God was throwing a party in Heaven. The whole heavenly family was shouting for joy. My son stepped out on his faith in Jesus and got dunked. Some of you may be asking why get baptized? My son had the same question. I explained to him that it was a profession of your relationship to Jesus. You are telling everyone that your not ashamed to be a Christian. Not to mention your washing your sins away and cleansing yourself to the glory of God. We should never be ashamed to be a Christian. Once again, to God be the glory.

                                                                                                                          God Bless

"For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many"  (1 Corinthians 12: 2-14).

The baptism into the Body is actually a baptism in the Blood of Christ at the time we are born again. We become a member of the body of Christ. It does not matter what denomination we are a member of, but rather what family we are "born" into. We become sons and daughters of God and are now members of the body of Christ when we repent and accept Him as our Savior. Our water baptism is the portrayal of that happening and a witness to the world that we are saved. If you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior and have not been water baptized you need to be baptized today to seal your covenant with God. (Excerpt from the book Extremes or Balance? by Betty Miller.)
