    Romans 12:1 A Living Sacrifice

    A Living Sacrifice

    Jesus' only desire was,

    To do his father's will.

    Knowing from the beginning,

    His very blood would spill!

    He'd die on the cross,

    To be sin's sacrifice.

    Putting aside his desires,

    He didn't think twice!

    As a living sacrifice,

    That's how we should live.

    Putting aside our desires,

    Total devotion to Jesus give.

    We should live each moment,

    As Jesus' extension.

    And throughout each day,

Give His work our total attention.

    Will you surrender today,

    And not think twice;

    To putting yourself aside,

    And being a living sacrifice?

Romans 12:1(NLT) I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask?

    Changed or Unchanged?

Scripture Reading; Colossians 3:1-17 (NLT)                         Changed or Unchanged?

Thought for Today; Whatever you do or say let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus. Colossians 3:17a (NLT)

As a correction officer, one of my duties is to do inmate cell searches. We look for drugs, weapons, homemade ropes, and so on. One day as I was searching an inmate's cell, (It was very clean, everything was neat as it should be.) He had a Bible on his desk opened with many passages highlighted. I told him it was a great book to read. I asked if he believed what it said. He said yes and that he's been a Christian for many years.

As I searched his property bin, I uncovered several pornographic magazines. I asked, how he could have these magazines and God's word in the same cell? He was speachless!!

I told him to read Colossians 3:1-17 and said we are to be changed to new creatures in Christ. To put off the old self and take on the new.

Are you allowing the Spirit to change you?

Or are you unchanged because you are holding on to your past life's desires?

Changed Or Unchanged, just where do you stand?

Lord Jesus, Please creat in me a pure heart. Reveal to me those things I must let go of, and give me the strength to do so. Amen.

    Something New!

Scripture Reading; Philippians 2:12-16a                          Let Your Light Shine!

Thought for Today; Let your lives shine brightly before them.  Phil.2:15c

As a correction officer, I work in a dark world full of crooked and perverse people. By the strength of Christ, I have been able to let my life shine before them. I am a sinner washed by the blood of the Lamb. With the Spirit's guidance I have over these 18 years put into action God's saving work in my life. Although I've been persecuted for serving Christ there, many inmates have come to me for help in their new Christian walk. This humbles me and reassures me that Christ is in me and seen through me. I use Colossians 3:1-17 as a road map in my life so I can let my light shine. Gal. 5:24,25 says, those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. If we are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow the Holy Spirit's leading in every part of our lives.

We don't light a lamp and put it under a bush! No! We put it on a stand for all to see. Your light may be the light in the darkness that leads others to Christ!

    Keep it bright,

    By living right!

    Don't let it go dim,

    By continuing to sin!

Lord Jesus, Help us to keep our light brightly shining for you so we can be used by you for those who are lost. Amen.

    Happy Thanksgiving!!!

    TIME TO GIVE THANKS!

    It's time to give thanks,

    For the blessings we've had.

    Our family and friends,

    Especially Mom and Dad.

    The life we had shared,

    With those in our past.

    The many fond memories,

    That will forever last.

    Those things in this world,

    God has so graciously given.

    But most precious of all,

God's Son who is now risen!

For all the blessings we've received.

It's time to give God our thanks.

Because to show us His love,

He has gone to great lengths!

    God loves us so much!

    Come As You Are

    You don't need fine clothes,

A fancy house or a car.

I want you to come to Me,

    Just the way you are!

    No special skills or,

    Higher education required.

    What you will be taught,

    Will be Spirit inspired!

    I'll mold and shape you,

    As I see fit.

    I won't leave you stranded,

    I will never quit!

    My purpose for you,

    Is of My own design.

    Iam Christ Jesus your Lord,

    Your tarnished life I'll refine.

    Confess to Me,

    All of your sin.

    Yes, come as your are,

I'll change you from with in.

    The Quiet Place

    The Quiet Place

    When you need to talk,

    And seek My face.

    Escape this world's noise,

    Come to the quiet place!

    A place you can focus,

    Your attention on Me.

    And not be distracted,

    By any movement you see.

    No television to watch,

    Or radio for singing.

    No games or books,

    Just your heart, bringing.

    I am Christ your Lord,

    Give Me your reverence!

    Humble yourself when,

    You come into My presence!
