Colossians 2
Dear Father,
I pray for Christians everywhere that we would be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that we may have the full riches of complete understanding. Help us to know Christ, because all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in him.
Just as we have received Christ Jesus as Lord, may we continue to live in him. Help us to be rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as we have been taught. May we be overflowing with thankfulness.
Father, don't let anyone take us captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy. These empty philosophies depend on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
Remind us that in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and we have been given fullness in Christ. He is the head over every power and authority.
We praise you that, when we were dead in our sins, you made us alive with Christ. You forgave all our sins.

Obedience and Blessings
Dear Lord,
Help us to be strong and courageous. May we be careful to obey all the law your have given us. Do not let us turn from it to the right or to the left, so that we may be successful wherever we go.
Cause us not to let the Book of the Law depart from our mouths, but meditate on it day and night, and be careful to do everything written in it. Then we will be prosperous and successful.
Help us to be strong and courageous. Don't let us be terrified or discouraged, for you, the Lord our God will be with us wherever we go.
Joshua 1:6-9

Prayer from Colossians 1
I have a dear missionary friend in Africa who is conducting a Bible study on the book of Colossians this week. I told him I would agree in prayer by praying through Colossians at home. Here are a few passages taken from my prayers. Please pray for him, also, as you join me in these prayers. His name is Isaiah. Thank you!
Dear Father,
Please fill us, and all of our Christian brothers and sisters throughout the world, with the knowledge of your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Enable us to live lives worthy of you, and help us to please you in every way.
Help us to bear fruit in every good work while growing in the knowledge of you. Strengthen us with all power according to your glorious might so that we will have great endurance and patience.
We joyfully give thanks to you, because you have qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. Thank you so much for rescuing us from the dominion of darkness and bringing us into the kingdom of the Son you love. Thank you that we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, in Jesus.
Once, we were alienated from you. But now we praise you, because you have reconciled us by Christ's physical body through death, to present us holy in your sight, without blemish and free from accusation.
Strengthen us to continue in our faith, to be established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. Enable us to keep on proclaiming you, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end we labor, struggling with all of your energy, which works so powerfully in us.

A Prayer for Our Youth from Proverbs 2
The Moral Benefits of Wisdom
Dear Father,
I pray for our youth that they would:
- accept your words
- store up your commands within them
- turn their ears to wisdom
- apply their hearts to understanding
- look for it as silver
- search for it as hidden treasure
As they do this, may they understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. I praise you, Lord, that you will give them wisdom and understanding, victory, and you will be their shield.
May they be just, so you will guard their courses. May they be faithful, so you will protect their ways. Cause them to understand what is right and just and fair, every good path.
Cause wisdom to enter their hearts. May knowledge be pleasant to their souls. (Don't let them resist and fight it.)
Give them discretion that will protect them. Give them understanding that will guard them. Give them wisdom to save them from the ways of wicked, perverse people who leave the straight paths to walk in dark ways.
Keep them from influences who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the preverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.
Save them from sexual immorality. Remind them of the serious consequences to which it will lead.
May they always walk in the ways of good people and keep to the paths of the righteous. May they be upright so they will live in the land, and be blameless so they will remain in it.
Don't let them be like the wicked, who will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful, who will be torn from it.
In the name of Jesus I pray,

All Things are Possible
Dear Father,
Give us the faith to believe. Your Word assures us that all things are possible for those who believe. Situations that may be impossible with people, are not impossible with you, Lord. Assure us that with you, all things are possible!
