PAT ROBERTSON TEACHES ETERNAL SECURITY OF
THE BELIEVER:
I have walked with God for nearly thirty
years, and for the last twenty-five years or so, I have never even thought
about the possibility of losing my salvation. It just is not a reality for me
at all. The reason is that I live for the Lord. The thought of doing otherwise
just does not occur to me. Do I commit acts of sin? Yes. Do I fail God? Yes.
Are there things I should do that I do not do? Yes. I need the cleansing
forgiveness of the Lord constantly. My concern is that I realize God's purpose
for my life and that I do not fall short of what He intends for me. But as far
as losing my salvation, it just does not come up for me, nor should it for any
sincere Christian.
The Bible tells us that the gifts and
calling of God are without repentance (see Romans 11:29). The work of Jesus
Christ is eternal. It will never be revoked. Apart from the Bible, the greatest
assurance any Christian has of eternal security is the day-by-day witness of
the Holy Spirit in his life that he is a child of God and the fact that
day-by-day he is becoming more like Jesus.
The Bible teaches security in the Holy
Spirit and in the things of God. Jesus said, "My Father, who has given
them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My
Father's hand" (John 10:29). So we are secure in the hand of God, and we
are to rest secure in the Lord. God has put His Spirit within us; He has given
His Word to us. Jesus Christ is at the right hand of God, constantly making
intercession on our behalf; (see Hebrews 7:25) and God has sent angels to watch
over us (see Hebrews 1:14). In other words, we are surrounded by tremendous
helps. We should constantly remind ourselves that we are secure, that God loves
us, and that we belong to Him.
"I believe that once I am saved, I am always saved, so I
am going to go out and commit adultery and steal and lie and cheat and rob,"
is being very foolish. If somebody really loves God, those things would not be
present in his life.
Pat Robertson teaches on cults
Invariably, a cult will put something else on an
equal footing with Christ. It will have a ritual that is equal to Christ, or it
will have a doctrine equal to Christ, or it will have a leader who is equal to
Christ. In other words, even if it acknowledges Christ as Savior, it will say
that you need something else before you can get into heaven. Cults teach that
salvation comes through Christ, plus their little unique way.
A final mark of a cult is the
unwillingness of the leaders to let the people grow up. A true shepherd will do
everything he can to bring Christian people to maturity as quickly as he can.
He will not seek to avoid necessary teaching, nor will he try to keep people
from maturity. Many cults perpetuate spiritual dependence so that their
followers lose the ability to make independent, rational decisions. Often
techniques of brainwashing are used to create robot-like behavior.
Beware
Of Satan's Latest “New International Reader's Version ... www.jesusisprecious.org/bible/nirv/antichrists_bible.htm This is
satanic doctrine. In sharp contrast, the Bible teaches that
Jesus came to earth as the Godhead incarnate. NIRV Brutally Attacks the Godhead
and Deity of Jesus Christ Look how the Devil has messed-up the Word of God in
Colossians 2:9, attacking the Godhead and Christ's deity... NIV Translators Are Ok With Worshipping Satan, But
Not Jesus! 1. The NIV "Bible"? Satan's Masterpiece!
By Pastor David Martin christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/the-niv... The Satanic Role Reversal
Promoted by the New International Version Now, to really top it off, make note
of the outright blasphemy contained in the NIV regarding the Lord
Jesus Christ Himself. The translators gave the name of the Son of God to the
devil and downgraded Christ to the level of a false god! SALVATION
IS NOT CONDITIONAL God and people everywhere understand what
eternity and forever means, but not false teachers who have the nerve to call God
a liar and say that His free gift of salvation requires Christians to stay
saved by their own works of righteousness when God plainly declared for all
time.
The New Covenant: Heb
8:12 For I will be merciful to
their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will
I remember no more.
The Trinity was not created, but always
existed with no beginning and no end. God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ,
and God the Holy Spirit work together in salvation: God calls all men to be
saved through believing in Jesus Christ; Jesus Christ saves and forgives all
sins of those who believe in Him AS A FREE GIFT; Jesus baptizes every believer at the moment of salvation with the Holy Spirit, then God the Father, God the son Jesus
Christ, and God the Holy Spirit comes inside the spirit of the believer to
dwell with them forever. Without Jesus Christ no Christian can do anything. Any who exclude or diminish Jesus Christ in any way impenitently will not have God the Father, nor the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit does not focus on Himself, instead He comes to teach and remind
every believer of everything that Jesus Christ has declared and taught,
strengthens them to obey and have power/authority to live and spread the gospel
on earth; gives gifts/offices to all members of the church to enable it to function effectively on earth. Some wanting signs and wonders and miracles focus on and lust after the Holy
Spirit for His spectacular workings and are denied because their focus is not on worship.
This kind of lust after signs is actually a sign of their unbelief: Jhn 4:48
Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
The world hates Christians: Jo
15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. Christians will be and are persecuted for
preaching the gospel message: Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile
you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely,
for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in
heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Every church must be fully built up in
the whole gospel message to be prepared and able to rebuke, repel, and get the
unrepentant wicked person(s) out of their midst who blaspheme God, oppress the
people by perverting the gospel message, which reveals them as anti-Christ and
enemy of God. 1Jo 2:18 Little children, it is the last hour: and as ye heard
that antichrist cometh, even now have there arisen many antichrists; whereby we
know that it is the last hour. The antichrists are already in the world
from before the time of the gospel with the arc enemy being the devil and his
children following later on. Christians should not get distraught by evil
people or envy them. Some evil people gain fortune and even fame, but this is
of no importance to Christians because from the beginning of the Bible to the
end God declares that He will put a final end to the devil and his followers. God
instructs the church how it is to deal with evil people who arise from within
the body to trouble the church as well as how to deal with those coming from
outside of it. ETERNAL SECURITY FOR THE RIGHTEOUS NO ETERNAL SECURITY FOR THE WICKED Psa 37:1[[A
Psalm of David.]] Fret not thyself because of
evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of
iniquity. Psa 37:2For
they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as
the green herb. Psa 37:3 Trust in
the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in
the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Psa 37:4Delight thyself
also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine
heart. Psa 37:18 The LORD knoweth the days of
the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. 1Jo 4:4 Ye are of God, little children,
and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is
in the world. 1 Jo 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he
that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. God has no enemy who is too big to cut
down: Psa 37:35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself
like a green bay tree. Psa 37:36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he
was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
Rev 20:10 And the devil
that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the
beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever
and ever.
