The Love of Christ
I saw these words and phrases speaking of the love of Christ in a devotional by C. Spurgeon.
"The love of Christ...that surpasses knowledge." Eph. 3:19
Sweetness
Fullness
Greatness
Faithfulness
Passes all human comprehension
Matchless
Unparalleled
Vast
Boundless
Measureless
Fathomless
None can attain to it
Lord you say if You be lifted up, all men will be drawn to You...help us to lift You up before men in these times. You are the Word of God made flesh...You dwelt among us and are full of grace and truth...You are the light that shines in the darkness, You are the true light that enlightens every man...Lord help Your church lift You up that men may see You and be drawn to You to the saving of their souls.
I pray Father, today that You draw people from all over this earth to the light...to the Lord and giver of Life, Jesus Christ Your Son.
And we proclaim Him, and admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ. Collossians 1:28

Solomon's Prayer
I found myself reading in this prayer of Solomon's today---I've been here before because I have part of it underlined. I had a fitful prayer time with the Lord last night...another time of what feels like crushing to me.
Then in a dream I was made to think: "I am the Lord's prisoner." He is working in me, teaching and training me not to go ahead, nor lag behind---but to listen, yield, hear, obey... in "HIS" time, at His word, by His Spirit.
I also decided to keep hoping in Him...against hope and natural reasoning that He wants to and will restore my health.
1 Kings 8:56-61
"Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He has promised through His servant Moses.
If God fulfilled all His word spoken through Moses, how much more can we hope, believe & trust upon the words of Jesus Christ---God's Son. Hebrews 1:1-2
It is good to exalt the Lord and His word, His faithfulness to His own goodness and to us.
Solomon prayed this prayer, not David as I thought...he did not stay true to the Lord but let his heart be defiled by his many wives. 1 Kings 11:1-8
We start out with good intentions...seeing the Lord and His glory, we even pray...but we still get muddled up in sin, despising the Lord and His word...O Lord, keep us back, keep me back from presumptious sins.
"May the Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. May He not leave us nor forsake us, (ps 106:8) "that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgements, which He commanded our fathers.
I don't always hear Your word Lord "as a command". I need help in hearing and understanding Your word as You mean it to be heard...that is where Your power lies...in the truth of Your word. Cause me to love You with my whole heart; cause me to delight to do Your will.
"and may these words of mine, with which I have made supplication before the Lord, be near the Lord our God day & night,
This makes me think of Jesus, my High Priest---everliving to make intercession for me; seated at the right hand of the throne of Majesty in the heavens. Hebrews 7:24-25; He 8:1-2
that He may maintain the cause of His servant and the cause of His people Israel, as each day may require,
O Lord remember Your people Israel again and all Your good word spoken to them. Let them hear your lovingkindness in the morning and teach them to do Your will. Remember the blood of Jesus that was shed even for their sins...O Lord, let Your mercy & forgiveness fall upon Israel, thank You Lord.
"that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God; there is no other.
This is really what all life is about---God bringing us to a place to reveal Himself---His existence, His glory, His sovereignty over all His creation.
We learn to bow low in worship & adoration to the God who truly is God.
"Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty Who was and is and is to come!"
You are worthy O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, and by your will they exist and were created. Revelation 4:8;11
Let your heart therefore be loyal to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, as at this day.

Obedience in Suffering
I haven't been here in a while...I do have to limit my time at the pc because of eye strain; and I keep going through valleys of depression. The Lord is cutting away a lot of fleshly things in my life, things I think I need and enjoy so there is a grieving time...then I find those things were not "necessary" for my well being after all. LOl...it is quite amazing in the long run and I am praising Him for His faithfulness to me; these seasons of pruning are probably answers to my prayers and certainly are in line with His purpose for me and all believers...we are to be conformed to the image of Jesus. Wow!!!! What a purpose the Father has in mind for us...this does not mean just getting us a little bit better or cleaner it means total change...I am glad it is a gradual process. :) I have been reading and meditating on all kinds of prayer examples in the Word, this one sticks with me a lot: In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety. Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation, being designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 5:7-10 I'm trying to learn obedience too...even in the midst of suffering...just "waiting" can feel like suffering to me (good grief). What I find at times is a JOY in just obeying the Lord and learning to delight in doing His will. Learning to trust and obey...LOL This is the path for all believers; sure can be bumpy at times for me but He has a way of making the rough places smooth. We see that Jesus had plenty of faith: He knew God could save Him from death; He went to the right place on His knees before His Father's throne and...He was heard because of His piety. The sufferings of the cross was God's will at this time. Anyway, even our sufferings are not wasted in God. The Father had a purpose for the Lord's suffering, He became the source of eternal salvation to all those who obey Him; He was fitted for the Office of High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek. God has plans and purposes for His suffering saints too; He has a place of service in His kingdom for each one of us and we are chosen to bear fruit. The scriptures tell us we "all" are part of a holy priesthood: you also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 Pe 2:5 and He made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father; to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. Re 1:6 It has done me a lot of good to read and think this over again today. I forget that I've been chosen to serve God as a part of a holy priesthood; the things of this world, this earth get so big sometimes, these things will pass away, it is the invisible things that are eternal. Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts, which wage war against your soul. 1 Pe 2:11

Hezekiah's Prayer
In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, "Thus says the Lord, 'Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.'"
Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the Lord, and said, "Remember now, O Lord, I beseech Thee, how I have walked before Thee in truth and with a whole heart, and have done what is good in Thy sight." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying,
"Go and say to Hezekiah, 'Thus says the Lord, the God of your father David, "I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will add 15 years to your life. "And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city."
"And this shall be the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing He has spoken:
"Behold, I will cause the shadow on the stairway, which has gone down with the sun on the stairway of Ahaz, to go back 10 steps." So the sun's shadow went back 10 steps on the stairway on which it had gone down.
Isaiah 38:1-8
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What impressed me here is Hezekiah's reaction to the word from a proven "man of God"...Isaiah had a truly accurate word from the Lord...Hezekiah was going to die.
Yet the king goes personally to God in prayer...he pours out his heart to Him..."himself". It is always good to go to the Lord personally...for ourselves in prayer, even in the face of trustworthy words from "good" ministries, or good doctors or any other kind of authorities in this world. We just never know what the Lord might do for us and thru our time of travail in prayer before Him.
In this case Isaiah is used again to tell Hezekiah his life will be extended 15 years. But God does even more...the whole city is to be delivered from the Assyrians...this goes way beyond the King's personal prayer...the blessing reached out to many...so it might be in our case, we never know.
And God desired to display even more of His power...by giving the sign with the shadow of the sun going back 10 steps.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lord I pray we will all be encouraged to press in to Your throne of grace...no matter what we have heard spoken to us...You are a very personal God and Your Ways are past finding out...help us our God to trust You in all things; to know that You will choose the right and wise thing to do for us and thru us. Thank You Lord for being the kind of God who can do more than we can ask or think. Lord I also pray today for those who do not have the strength to pray anymore, for those weary from their personal battles...Lord let Your grace a mercy be poured out to them according to their need, even providing a sign to some according to Your power and will, thank You Lord...thank You for the encouragement we find in the scriptures.

Answered Prayers
I want to thank all who may have prayed for me and my eye problem...I had a good check up yesterday. The inner eye health of both eyes is still good...and I am very thankful. We are not certain why I have these symptoms...my guess it is part of my overall health condition. Thank You Lord for Your mercies to me, thank You for the internet church.
