The Book of Life...
I have known about the Book of Life since first becoming a Christian, but hadn't "heard" the details as Royce Ross explains below. Interesting!.............................................................
No one will get away with injustice forever. Everyone will be judged, both
Christians for our works of service to our Lord (1 Corinthians 3:10-15; 2
Corinthians 5:10) and non-Christians for their refusal to accept Christ's
sacrifice on their behalf (Revelation 20:11-15). If anyone's name does not
appear in the Book of Life, he will be lost eternally. I believe that at
birth everyone's name goes into the Book of Life because the Lord wants to
give to everyone eternal life (2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slow about His
promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for
any to perish but for all to come to repentance"; 1 Timothy 2:3-4, "This is
good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be
saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth"). So we must conclude that
our name stays in the Book of Life until the time of our earthly
death. Anyone who does not accept His gracious plan of salvation has their
name erased from of the Book of Life when they die (Revelation 3:5, "He who
overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his
name from the Book of Life, and I will confess his name before My Father and
before His angels"). (from Royce Ross's Bible Study on Daniel chapter 6)

In ALL things...
I Corinthians 10:31(NASB): Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you
do, do all to the glory of God.
Colossians 3:17: Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the
Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
1 Peter 4:11: Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the
utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the
strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified
through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and
ever. Amen. (NASB ©1995)

Do you believe?
We are living in the last days. At any moment the Middle East could erupt into
a conflict that will escalate into the "war of annihilation." Then the
Lord will take us, the Body of Christ, out of the whole mad scene and into
the heavenly glories of the Father where we will be sheltered until the wrath
of God has been expended on the earth. Jesus said, "When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads for your redemption draweth nigh" (Luke 21:28).
It's later than you think! Now is the time to wake up from your lethargy and
realize that the coming of the Lord is at hand. If you've been playing around
with Christianity and your relationship with God, it's high time to realize
you need a full-on commitment to Jesus Christ. There's no time to waste. The
Bridegroom is coming. He's literally at the door, waiting to make His
dramatic entrance onto the main scene. Now is the time to make sure you'll be
ready when He comes.
Is Jesus your Saviour? If not, I would encourage you now, while you yet can, to ask God for the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life He offers you in Christ. Submit yourself to God, and you too will rejoice at the appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

God is in control...
Devotionals and other Christian books I've been reading lately have been talking about the fact that "God is in control"... He is still on His Throne... He is in control of governments, men, circumstances, happenings all over the world... We are not to fear or be fearful... We are to pray, trust, and obey... "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God" (Philippians 4:6). With thanksgiving in our hearts we know we have been purchased with the Blood of Jesus Christ! We know where we're headed: HOME. We know Whose we are: God's children. We know He is in control and nothing shall separate us from His Love! "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril (danger), or sword? As it is written, "For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:35-39). Yes, God is in control. Always was. Always will be. Hallelujah! Praise His Holy Name!

Worth reading...
Once in a while I like to share sites I believe are worth looking into. This man CC writes anointed poetry well worth reading. (CC's poetry, Mel's blog, and Brian Cranford's blog are always thought-provoking in their differences, but they all leave me knowing that it's way past time that I too become salt and light to a lost and dying world, especially to my own family and my friends. It's a simple matter of my choices and what I say and do to glorify our Lord.)

Our quiet time with the Lord...
Some of us have very busy lives, inside and outside the home. Some of us (like me) are retired and don't have the busyness of days gone by (thankfully!)... A friend emailed me and I discerned that she was feeling guilty because she said she had missed her morning "quiet time". (She works on a farm as well as in an office an hour away from their home.) I too used to feel guilty if something happened and I missed a morning of "quiet time". I even became "legalistic" about those "quiet times"! "I must have a quiet time! I must read my Bible more! I must pray harder!" I have since learned that that guilt came from the enemy of my soul and robbed me of the JOY of the Lord! So, this was my response to my friend: Those "quiet times" that you mentioned are indeed blessings, sometimes rare ones in a busy life, but always remember: the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you..."Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord..." and dear soul, you DO speak oft with Him! "Abide in His presence, and trust in His Word..." You do that all day long! Don't let the enemy of our souls convince you that you have not had "quiet time" with the Father. He is with you always; His Spirit lives in you; and Jesus is ever interceding for you... I am sure that You speak to Him in your heart EVEN AS you go about your daily routines and jobs and responsibilities... I believe those are also "quiet times". :-) Have a great day!
