    Beautiful Days

Sorry, it's been so long since I last posted something. Life interferes with a lot of things that I enjoy doing. I'm sitting here this morning on the last day of June looking out my window at the beautiful day that the good Lord has given us. All too often we are in such a hurry to be somewhere, see somebody, or do something that we never take the time to just sit down and look at what we have been blessed with. We have no bombs falling around our houses, no soldiers roaming around with guns. We are free to walk out our door, sit down and read our Bibles, or do anything (within the law) that we want to. Take time today to stop and smell the roses, pet a kitten, say hello to a neighbor, help someone carry their groceries, or just say 'God bless you' to someone who needs a little encouragement. Trust me, it will make you feel better and it will make your day brighter. Till next time - God Bless! Jan

    Palm Sunday

Yesterday was Palm Sunday. According to Christian tradition this was the day that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. Have you ever wondered what the symbolism was in this? The people of Israel were expecting a mighty warrior king, like King David, to come and free them from the Romans who occupied their land. A king when he comes into a city that he is to rule would always ride a horse, symbolizing power and authority. Jesus, on the other hand, even though he was the King of Glory, chose to enter on a donkey. This meant that he came in peace. He was the Messiah, but his rule was to be over human hearts and souls until the end time, when he will return in clouds of glory at the Battle of Armaggedon. Then he will come as the warrior king, riding a white horse, with a vesture dipped in blood, and the world will know him as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Palm Sunday begins the journey to the cross for Jesus. As he wept for Jerusalem, we need to weep for the lost and dying in this world. As he set his face toward Jerusalem, we need to set our face toward his soon return. Shalom! Go in peace! Sunday's Coming! Jan

    God's Child

What does it mean to be a child of God? If you are a parent and have a small child, you know that the child depends on you for everything, food, clothes, a place to stay.

If you are a child of God, do you depend on Him for everything? He says that not even a sparrow can fall without him knowing. Are we, as His children, not worth more to him than a sparrow? Do we just come to God, like so many children do their parents, when we want something?

Have you ever thought about talking to God and just simply saying "Good morning, God, I love you"? Let's concentrate more on loving God and telling him so, than just asking for what we want or need. He will supply all our need if we love Him.

    Till next time, God bless!

    Jesus Loves the Little Children

Matthew 18:10 - Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

I heard on the news today about another mother murdering her four year old adopted child. These children are so innocent and yet they fall prey to such evil. Jesus loved children. He said, "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God." (Mark 10:14) Pray for these children who suffer in silence and pray for the souls of their abusers.

Till next time - God Bless!

    Something Beautiful

Psalm 90:17 says "And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us: yea, the work of our hands establish thou it."

What is beauty? The dictionary says "a quality that pleases or delights the senses or mind". It is often said that "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder".

Let us daily strive to let the beauty of the Lord be upon us and remember that when he looks at us he looks at us through the precious blood of His Son, and no matter if we are old or young, fat or thin, tall or short, we are beautiful in His eyes. We should reflect the beauty and love of God outward for all the world to see.

Till next time - God bless!
