A HIDING PLACE
Some folks search for worldly fame.
Their wanderings never cease.
They have tried it all,
But, they can't recall,
Even one moment of inner peace
But, I've found a place of quiet rest,
Far from toil and strife,
Where no angry billows ever crest,
Upon the sea of life!
In the cleft of the rock,
Is my hiding place!
There I have no cause to fear!
Sorrows are gone without a trace,
As God wipes away each tear!
Ah, when lifes storms are raging high,
And the ground is shaking 'neath my feet,
I can feel my Saviour drawing nigh!
His presence is so sweet!

A SOUL'S WORTH
It sure looked like she had it all,
Beauty, wealth,and fame!
A whole generation and its children,
Were familiar with her name!
Numbered among her companions,
Were a politician and a tycoon!
She was a lady of intelligence,
Certainly not a buffoon!
She was admired by her fellow countrymen,
And foreign heads of state!
She was highly spoken of,
And mentioned with the great!
This lady's millions,
Provided her with a life of ease!
She seemed to be forever young,
'Til she was stricken with a fatal disease.
Some folks called her an angel.
But, I really didn't see her that way.
I just hope before she drew her last breath,
She had time to pray!
The young sports star,
Seemed to "have the world by the tail!"
Each time he signed a new contract,
His millions increased without fail!
He had the "whole enchilada,"
Mansions, fine cars, and maids!
But, his career took a nosedive,
When he found out he had Aids!
Now it may be just a matter of time,
'Til death takes its toll.
Oh God, though his body may be dying,
Have mercy on his soul.
The famous rock star indulged in it all,
Wine, women, and song!
Folks thought he was "the greatest thing,"
"That had ever come along!"
But, due to an overdose of drugs,
He died a lonely man.
The whole world had been at his feet.
But God wasn't in his plan!
His voice had moved millions!
It could have been for the good.
But, he longed for the limelight,
Like satan knew he would.
Oh Friend, what is the worth of a soul?
I wonder can you tell?
Is anything here on Earth,
Worth spending Eternity in Hell?
The answers to these questions,
I surely hope you know!
But, just in case you don't,
The answer is a resounding "No!"

JESUS GAVE ME HOPE!
I don’t know what you’re going through.
But, I wanted you to know,
I’ve struggled through,
Some hard times too,
When tears began to flow.
It was then I called on Jesus’ name,
During a time I could not cope.
And my circumstance was not the same,
For Jesus gave me hope!
He said, “My child come unto me,”
“And I will give you rest!”
“Just have faith and you will see,”
“I’ll help you stand the test!”
His voice then calmed,
Life’s troubled sea!
The billows ceased to roll!
A wonderful peace came over me,
As great joy filled my soul!
Now I’ve learned to trust in Him,
No matter, come what may!
And though life’s path is often dim,
He’ll guide me all the way!
