Outwit The Enemy
Dear Family,
Take a moment and consider those who surround you daily, how do they effect your thinking, decision making, or the way you react to situations? Many Christians never give a second thought to who speaks into their life daily, in fact they never consider the importance of having a few intercessory friends available in their life. Those who are willing to sacrifice sleep, or a meal. Friends who desire to see God's best in our life, who allow God to use them to help break through those half way points in our life.
Chuck Pierce has written a great book titled, "Prayers That Outwit The Enemy.". In his book he gives a great understanding of what it is to stand in the gap...
In The Gap
According to Pastor Frank Damazio in his writings, Seasons of Intercession:
The word “gap” in the Hebrew means to rupture or breach.
This word is taken from a military context, and applies
to besiegers who rush into a city through breaches in the
wall. The besieging army would attack one specific place in
the wall until it was weakened. Then with united strength,
the enemy would rush the wall, causing a break or breach.
The gap standing soldier’s responsibility was to risk his life
by standing in the breach and single handedly repelling the
enemy. This was known to be one of the bravest acts
of a soldier, since He risked severe injury and danger.
Often these soldiers gave their lives to fill the gap and
save the city. A gap standing soldier was a highly respected
and sought out name among the soldiers.
Chuck also gives 12 steps to overcoming the Halfway point; which I found to be insightful and encouraging. And when you are surrounded with like minded friends, who interceed on your behalf when God burdens them for you, the effects are even greater.
Get Past Your Halfway Point
“So we built the wall, and all of it was joined together
to half its height, for the people had a heart and mind to work.” (Nehemiah 4:6 amp)
We are given 12 steps to overcome the halfway mark:
1. Overcome accusations. The accuser tries to stop us. False judgments lead to delays.
2. Understand the conspiracy set against us. The enemy does not play fair. He tries to mobilize others to help him stop God’s covenant blessing.
3. Break a demeaning spirit against what we are building. If accusations don’t stop us, he will try to place worthlessness upon what we are accomplishing. Break the power of worthlessness.
4. Enter into a new dimension of bold praying and define our gaps. Nehemiah prayed differently. He said, “Lord, blot out the enemies!” Let’s get bold in our praying.
5. Break legalistic structures. The enemy always tries to change laws and times. He will develop a logistic structure to restrain our movement.
6. Receive a new dimension of faith. Decree that GOD IS ABLE for us to accomplish our goal and get to our destination.
7. Evaluate those who are building with us. Many times the Lord wants us to review who is with us and what supernatural connections we need to move forward.
8. Get a new force of intercession in place. We need to close the gaps. Therefore, we must be sure to have an intercessory force surrounding what we are doing.
9. Review our war strategy. We need a strategy or set of plans to overcome the conflicts set against us. We also have to have God’s blueprint to build His way.
10. Find prophetic input. We always need to know the prophetic trumpet to which we are listening. Without a vision, or prophetic revelation, a people perish, and so does a project.
11. See how to become better connected and to communicate in a more efficient way. Sometimes communication is our downfall. Let’s ask the Lord to streamline our process and make all communication efficient.
12. Go past our halfway point! Declare that we are headed to the other side.
So grap those intercessory friends close to you and allow the Lord to begin a new work in you for them, and them for you... Let's outwit the enemy!
