What is wrong with Christianity?
Over the past six years or so my wife and I have visited six different churches of different denominations with in the Christian faith. One thing that amazes me is the attitude of the people towards each other and towards new people whether they are visitors or prospective new members. I always notice that one part of the group will come to greet you, they always put the most outgoing person as the door greater. Another part of the congregation will great you but keep you at arms length, then the final part of the congregation will ignore you altogether. If there is something visually off about you prepare to be ignored by all but the Pastor and the most outgoing of members. If you decide to attend a church a few times, say four to six weeks, you will really see peoples personalities. Most new Christians or new prospective members will decide to attend or join a congregation with in this time period. Sadly most will choose to move on if they do not feel comfortable nor welcome.
My wife and I have experienced all these things first hand and we are saddened by the experience. Our prayers are with those whom have crossed our path. None of us are perfect, not one. We are all sinners, falling short of the Grace of God. Sadly I do believe that some forget this and whether they know it or not, they judge others to a certain standard and treat rather badly those that do not measure up to the standard. Thank you Lord for your grace in forgiving our sins. We all need that grace and we need to remember that it is not our place to decide who receives it.
