Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. When I was younger I misunderstood the importance of fellowship with fellow Christians, and I found myself hanging out with people that made me stumble in my new walk with the Lord. As I became more entangled with these people, I stumbled even more. I forgot the words that we all hear when we are young, "you become who you hang around." It's true, and that is why the Lord warns us in the above verse to not spend time with those that will seperate us from our Lord.

Romans 4:18-19 For Abraham, when hope was gone, hoped on faith. His faith never quailed. In my life I have faced many situations that made me wonder if God was still there. I faced certain death when I was just a young man when a tragedy left me in a comatose state. My faith, after I awakened, wavered. It was so hard to go through the process of recuperation. It was so difficult to work my way back. I had to learn to walk again. I had to accept the help of others for the simplest tasks, such as dressing myself. It wasn't until later that I realized that all along He was carrying me. Storms will always barrage us. Sometimes it may seem like all hope is lost, but have faith, my friends, for the Lord has it all under control. It is during these times of hopeless despair that He teaches us character, and faith.

Isaiah 50:10 Who is among you that feareth Jehovah, that obeyeth the voice of his servant? He that walketh in darkness and hath no light, let him trust in the name of Jehovah and rely upon his God.

My Internet Radio Show
For those of you that know me, you are aware that I have a number of political sites (Political Pistachio is my baby, though) as well, and an internet radio show. Saturday's guest is an expert on the Patriot Act, and I thought you all may be interested in listening to the show. If you would like to hear it (or any of my recent past broadcasts) simply go to www.blogtalkradio.com/politicalpistachio. Thanks, and God Bless. Added note: I, by the grace of the Lord, survived a near-fatal automobile accident in 1985 when I was just a young man. The short story I wrote about it and my experience of coming out of the coma is posted at my Defender of the Blahs site. Thanks, my dear friends. I hope you enjoy the story and the radio show. One more thing: one of my favorite stories in the Bible is that of Job and his uncompromised faith. More interesting is the roles of his friends. In the end, when it comes to friends, this is what I believe is the lessons the story teaches in regards to such friends: Sit with your friends in their times of trouble. Pray with them. Listen to them. Bring them food and water if they need it. You can ask them if they want you to read the Bible to them. Only read it if they want you to. Show them that you care for them.

This poem was published in an anthology called "A Break In The Clouds." I wrote it June 20, 1992. Peaceful Advice Go peacefully among the chaos and noise of life, And remember silence may bring you peace. The humble may pass through life unknown to many, But God shall remember their guardship of peace. Truth shall come with silence and observation, But words of others can shadow the truth. The truth may lead to fulfillment in life, But keep your memory of humility and truth. Strive for the upper reaches in life, But keep integrity within your sight. The Lord will reward the keeper of peace, But success may escape the one who fights. Even in loss the spirit will guide you, Allow the Lord to lovingly carry you, Strength often builds through our lowest times, He never leaves us but sets us anew. Whether you can see his plans for your life, Or if you are stumbling searching his will; The Lord God will guide you safely through life, And reward you in thanks and a life that fulfills.

Motives I wrote a piece about motives on my Political Pistachio site tonight, and cross-posted it at all of my other political sites. I also dropped a poem off at my Defender of the Blahs site. And it got me thinking, what are my motives? The Lord sees into my heart, and whenever we do anything in our lives, the actions we take are important, and should honor and praise Him, but I wonder how often deep down that is truly our motive. What is good about it, though, is the Lord knows my heart, and even when my motives aren't what they ought to be, He forgives me. And when the difficulties arise based on the poor seeds I had sown, He Carries Me. Thank you, Jesus, for your comfort and sacrifice.
