The thoughts of a Christian dealing with the loss of a loved one.

    The Journey

I was sitting on the front porch last night looking up at the stars. It was clear and you could really see them. They say that if you look at the North Star, that is where the third heaven is. Up there is where all the people who have accepted Jesus Christ as their savior have gone when they have passed from this life. The Apostle Paul says in 2 Cor 5:8 to be out of the body is to be with the Lord. That is a great feeling to know that. It helps to ease the pain. I know that my wife is alive and I just can't see her. I know that she is up there just praying and waiting. We know that we'll see our loved ones again. That helps ease that dull, aching, empty pain.

In Psalm 84 How lovely is your dwelling place O Lord Almighty. My soul yearns, even faints for the courts of the Lord.

I've read and prayed and thought this. To me not only is it the church buildings but I look at it as Heaven. I always knew that Heaven existed and thats where we would go, but I didn't think all that much about it till my wife went there to be with the Lord.

Verse 4: Blessed are they that dwell in your house. They are praising you.

Once again I thought how wonderful and great it is for them that are in Heaven for they are happy and praising and seeing Jesus Christ. They are having fellowship with him waiting for the blessed time when their loved ones down here will join them.

Verse 5: Blessed are those whose strength is in you. You have set their hearts on a pilgrimage.

I have accepted Jesus as my Savior and my pilgrimage started with my salvation and now is my journey to Heaven to be with Him. We will need His strength to help and guide us for that journey because there will be bumps and ruts in the road. Looking to heaven more and more has also helped me to realize that there are people here that need to hear the saving grace of Jesus Christ and be helped and not neglected.

I pray that this is your goal! I pray for all my brothers and sisters in Christ!
